Harbourside Inn was such a quaint and charming stay, tucked away in the quiet town of Northeast Harbor. It’s about a 20-minute drive from the livelier Bar Harbor, which ended up being the best of both worlds for us. The shops and restaurants nearby do close fairly early, but Bar Harbor is just a short drive away whenever you want a little more action. We loved the slower pace here, especially being able to walk into town for coffee in the mornings. It felt peaceful, cozy, and quintessentially Maine—the perfect home base for our time on Mount Desert Island.

The house and the staff were amazing! The home was beautiful and in a great location regarding park access. The staff was so very accommodating, and even let me check in a little early. If you’re considering staying in an inn, remember that the walls are thinner than a regular hotel. You’re basically sharing a home with others, depending on how many rooms are in the house. Overall, great stay and I would definitely recommend and go back myself.

Wow! This was the most beautiful place. The property is tucked up on a beautiful lot of trees and ferns. Our room was just gorgeous with beautiful furniture, wallpaper and a fireplace. I couldn’t believe we were staying in such a storybook place. I found Mike at the checkin super kind and helpful. He also gave great recommendations for hiking based on my husband’s mobility needs. His advice was perfect—made our trip! You can literally enter Acadia from the trails directly behind the hotel. Luckily, you are close to many restaurants, but you are still away from the touristy parts of the island. 10/10 would stay here over and over again!!!

It was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Beautiful bedroom room and a livingroom with a cozy fireplace and kitchenette. Common areas to meet other guests and a light continental breakfast was served. There was a terrific outdoor area with a fire pit as well. Loved our stay!!

Authentic inn with lots of character and features. Very helpful staff. Real fire place in the room if that’s something that appeals to you. Room was immaculate, bed very comfortable and a nice little breakfast selection for the morning. Easy check in and some lovely outdoor seating with fire pits. It is possible to walk to Northeast harbour.

A friendly, family run inn. Very typical of old Maine style with cute wallpaper, wood floors, and old Maine charm. If you are looking for modern luxury this isn’t for you. However, if you want a lovely inn with a ton of charm and a great price on the island, then you won’t find better than the Harbourside. The bedroom was big with a very comfortable bed and lovely bed linens. It’s an easy walk to Northeast Harbor with excellent shopping and restaurants.

I cannot recommend Harbourside Inn enough! It’s on Northeast Harbor, which is absolutely stunning. We were minutes away from multiple mountains in the National Acadia Park and some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The inn’s parking lot was full our entire stay, but other than the occasional friendly guest encounter at the breakfast porch (which is so cute) we had no idea! Our room had a private bathroom and the room was absolutely precious. The Inn has an incredible charm and we were smitten with it.

Quiet and relaxing.

We were visiting the Bar Harbor area and the Inn is in a nice quiet area on the island. The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was accommodating. When we arrived it was all fully humid and our host brought in an air conditioner after hours. If we decide to stay again we’ll definitely stay at Harbourside Inn. Breakfast is coffee , tea and a choice of fruit and breakfast bars. There is an breakfast porch where you can meet other travelers.

Such a treat but also low key in a way we appreciated. Walking distance to downtown Northeast Harbor and a few carriage hikes. Room on third floor was lovely - firm beds if that’s your thing! Grounds were beautiful!

What a lovely place to stay! This was a peaceful and beautiful alternative to the typical Bar Harbour stay, and it is within minutes of Acadia National Park. Christine was very helpful when we checked in. The room and the inn were charming, and the people were amazing. Highly recommend!
