We stayed for 2 nights. After day 1, the bathroom sink clogged, we asked them to fix it before we went for our day trip. But we found the sink was as is when we returned. This was very unprofessional. Other than this, staff is overall helpful.

Don’t plan on early check in unless you want to pay $20 extra. Room was very nice and clean. However, while waiting in parking lot for check in time drug deals being made in parking lot, mentally unstable persons wandering around property and miscellaneous vagrants. Made me little nervous

Majority of the room was clean. The pillow cases were dirty with stains and no tea was provided. The staff was friendly and with lots of parking. The room we stayed at the room key did not work.

Outside needs a facelift. Room was clean and looked nice. People below our room played loud music for an hour and a half and at 10:15 they stopped. It appeared as though economically challenged people were living there. They didn’t give any problems except loud music. When we went to check in no one was at the desk. We rang a buzzer three times, waiting between each attempt. I happened to see the manager’s phone number on a card so I called and he said he was on his way. Eventually he came.

BEWARE!! Room was fine but I found out the hard way (by the local police dept) it is a DSS hotel (dept social services) and houses the homeless. I pulled in the parking lot to find 15 people just loitering in the parking lot, drinking and smoking. Went across the street to get a ball lock and door lock for my trailer, which I parked away from anyone/thing else. Checked in, put luggage in room and left for dinner. Came back and 1 of the homeless guys was pulling my trailer across the parking lot by hand. Near fight ensued so needless to say 3 police cars showed up and I immediatly checked out and asked for refund. BEWARE!

Outside of the hotel looked very rundown but the inside was very nice. There was a very shady person lurking outside by the door that made us feel unsafe. When I went to check in no one was there even after ringing the bell. Someone was there after I brought our luggage in though. The fourth floor smelled heavily like weed even though there were signs everywhere saying no smoking. Our room was very nice. Bed was uncomfortable for me personally but not for anyone else.

Check in was easy (although Taco Bell was the recommended place for dinner). The room itself was clean, quiet & comfortable. But the homeless and questionably stable or sober folks greeting me at the front door, the large & intimidating man asking me if I was “here for the weekend” behind me at check-in, the sketchy man getting off the elevator with a moped, the permeating smell of pot in the hallways and the elementary school fellow getting off the elevator with me to get the school van in the morning were all unsettling. As a woman traveling alone, I would NEVER recommend this facility. I felt unsafe leaving my vehicle in the lot, using the elevator with others in the vicinity and making it into my room unaccosted. Once I was in my room with the door bolted and locked, all was fine. But the rest of the facility? I recommend paying more to stay in Hammondsport.
