The rooms are very humid, the internet service is terrible, the connection is down all the time. There is no cable service, they have Netflix as the only provider, although they mention that they also have Disney plus and amazon prime, it is not true. In the windows, one had mosquito netting and the other did not, I had to fight with the mosquitoes that were in the room. The curtains in the bathroom were broken and dirty, I have pictures of it all. They never cleaned the room. I asked for an invoice, and they told me that by hotel policy, if I wanted an invoice, it would increase the price, more than the price I had already paid through XPEDIA. The AC did work and we had out own bath, but it was so cramped that it was pretty difficult to navigate. The towel rack and door closer cobbled together out of repurposed clothes hangars riveted to the door were emblematic. They always had a smile and were willing to help my family. My room was always cleaned and beds were made avery single day. The supermarket and restaurants were just of a walking distance. I love my stay at El Rey Hotel. He is a great person to chat with about local issues or to confirm your travel plans. The morning breakfast was a typical Belizian and was cooked amazing with the BEST coffee! Can’t wait to stay at El Rey again. Great location made us feel safe.
