Creekside Chalet is your mountain retreat in the heart of West Virginia. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by the warmth of the wood stove, soaring A-frame ceiling and large windows providing stunning views of the surrounding forest and the tranquil creek just outside. The living room, with comfortable seating, games and puzzles, invites you to unwind after a day of hiking or exploring, while the fully equipped kitchen offers everything you need to prepare home-cooked meals.

We have a Ring camera that faces out from the cabin and records the driveway. There are no security cameras on the interior of the property.   
  
The mini-split system provides comfortable heating and cooling for most of the year. However, when outdoor temperatures drop below freezing, it may not be sufficient on its own. During these colder conditions, guests will need to use the wood stove to maintain a safe and comfortable indoor temperature.  
  
If you have never used a wood stove before, we recommend avoiding bookings during the coldest months—particularly January and February—when overnight temperatures can fall below 32°F. This will help ensure a pleasant and worry-free stay.

Whether you’re interested in hiking, history, fishing, or simply relaxing in a peaceful mountain setting, there’s something for everyone nearby offering a mix of outdoor activities, historical sites, and local charm! Here are some of our favorite points of interest near Hedgesville, WV:  
  
1\. Western Maryland Rail Trail (WMRT) (distance from house - 20 minutes) a 22-mile rail-trail that runs parallel to the C&O Canal Towpath and follows the route of the former Western Maryland Railway. An excellent option for walking, hiking, and cycling.  
  
2\. Berkeley Springs State Park (distance from house - 25 minutes): Known for its natural mineral springs and spa services, it's a lovely spot for relaxation.  
  
3\. The Old Roman Bathhouse (distance from house - 15 minutes): Home to a mineral spa that has been in use since colonial times, the park’s Old Roman and Main bathhouses offer a wide selection of spa services, including massages, saunas, baths and showers.  
  
4\. Cacapon Resort State Park (distance from house - 35 minutes): Offers hiking, fishing, and golfing, with beautiful views and various trails.  
  
5\. Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA (distance from house - 35 minutes) A beautiful and expansive natural area that covers over 20,000 acres of forested land and is a haven for wildlife, outdoor enthusiasts, and nature lovers. The area offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping.  
  
6\. Black Draft Farm & Distillery (distance from house - 20 minutes): Near the farmers market, and the perfect spot for a drink!  
  
7\. Rumsey Monument: (distance from house - 45 minutes)A historic monument located in nearby Shepherdstown, commemorating General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson.  
  
8\. Antietam National Battlefield (distance from house - 45 minutes): Just a short drive away, it's a significant Civil War site with walking trails and informative exhibits.  
  
9\. Harpers Ferry National Historical Park (distance from house - 50 minutes): Offers stunning views and rich history, with plenty of hiking and sightseeing opportunities.  
  
10\. Shenandoah National Park (distance from house - 1 hour and 15 minutes): Bursting with cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, fields of wildflowers, and quiet wooded hollows. With over 200,000 acres of protected lands.

We really appreciated our host and how accommodating and easy he made our stay! The home was very clean and cozy with beautiful outside views & we loved all the windows in the house as well. If you are looking for a private & peaceful place to stay , we highly recommend it!!

Beautiful house, updated rooms, clean bathrooms and kitchen. Beds were comfy with nice linens. Wrap around porch was great with views of trees changing colors and listening to creek below! Great quiet secluded location and surrounding towns were very nice!

#### Perfect wooded getaway

My friends and I were looking for a quiet, secluded cabin that felt like camping, but with the comfort of indoor plumbing. Creekside Chalet delivered! The floor to ceiling windows and screen doors brought the outside in. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck, listening to the creek below. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we all got a good night's rest. Tony was a very courteous and responsive host. Overall, definitely a winner!!

#### Great place to stay to explore WV

We booked this so that we could run around for a few days in Berkeley springs (15-20 mins away) and the surrounding areas. We even went down to Winchester va (50 mins) which isn’t far away. House is really cute. Was very comfortable. The stream and waterfall in backyard were very impressive. The owners were great and very responsive. Highly recommend you stay here. Kids loved it.
