New ownership, now a different experience :-(
We stayed in 2023 and loved it because it is so remote, so we booked two more trips for 2024 and intended to book an additional two this year. FYI: Since last year, it is now under a corporate umbrella, which can be fine - but wasn't I loathe giving bad reviews and rarely do. But, I did not find interactions with the new owner to be forthright and I kept getting conflicting answers to justify the shutting off/cancelling of the satellite for the TV. I got the vibe of an inexperienced younger 'predestined' new owner willing to pinch pennies at the expense of the guest experience. For instance, the Smart TV had been turned off - even though it was listed when we booked (and still is). It's not a fun time when you're in the middle of nowhere with zero reception, no TV, and it rains and storms the entire time. We often stay at properties with no TV but want to know in advance so we can bring reading material. Various defenses were offered, but there really is no excuse for a false listing. Also, and credit that they may not know because I didn't mention it, there's a large dead tree that is likely going to hit the bedroom areas of the house at some point if not removed. The wind was blowing hard and the tree made me sleep on the sofa that night. We cancelled the next trip and will not return unless it goes under different ownership, which is sad because it is a nice property.
