Property was dated, but clean. Trail to the dock was challenging. Paddle boat was full of water. We had some issues with the television on a rainy day. The host did supply a lot of things that made the stay nice (coffee, toiletries, plastic bags, bug and bear spray).

Highlight - Lake
#1 Overall, we had a nice stay but we do want to warn anyone who needs to work remotely. The owner lists internet but they don't tell you that it is DSL and the best you'll get is 0.8 mbps down/up, if you are lucky. This is not sufficient for any conference calls - I tried. We have AT&T and had mostly no coverage in the cabin - so hotspot was out as well. #2 - Let's talk about the stove. It is time to replace it as it could be considered a safety hazard. The knobs do not have any markings left from the 1980's/early 90's and one burner is inop. Other than those two things that (unlucky us having to work on vacation) the place was good and the boats were a bonus!

Great location - close to West Glacier Entrance
Check-in was seamless and communication with the property owner was excellent. The house is located in a beautiful secluded area close to West Glacier. The owner supplied everything you need in the kitchen (including bottled water) so all you need is your food. The house was very clean although a bit dated. Unfortunately, we had a mouse in the house which disrupted our sleep (climbing on us in bed). The owner's sister came by with some poison, but the mouse just laughed at that. The only other complaint I have is the propane tanks to the grill were empty which I did not know about until I went to start it up. The owner provided a paddle boat and row boat, but they were full of water and my elderly husband and I were unable to empty them out so we did not use them. Overall (if you don't mind mice) it is a great place to stay.

Broken oars on a beautiful lake.
We really don't care if we sleep on rocks or without the roof over our heads. We're very easy to please and easily satisfied. We've been taking road trips all over the country in the last 10 years, and sure there's always lil things here and there. But most of the time we're very pleased and happy. This property is located on an amazing small, peaceful lake. Its paradise. Pair of loons which is the most amazing sound ever. House is spacious for 2 adults and 3 kids under 13. Bedroom and a loft above the main floor and a bedroom on the lower level. We've figured we'll put the kids upstairs and well sleep on the lower level. After putting kids to bed the first night and going down to lay in the bed, we've noticed a dead mouse next to the bed and mouse droppings on the stairs(we have photos to prove it). So we picked up, went upstairs, moved the oldest to an inflatable mattress and we spent the rest of the stay on the top floor. No cause for panic. We made it work. It was fun. Kids were catching perch like crazy off the dock. The rest of the stay was very good until I tried to use the row boat. There was 2 boats at the dock. A plastic paddle boat which we had to use and a useless aluminum row boat. The OARS on that boat are useless and it made very difficult to get that boat out on the lake. Those were taped with duct tape and gorilla tape. Its embarrassing. They were sliding in and out of the brackets. Popping in and out of the holders. We couldn't row. It took forever to get back once we got out on the lake. My kid actually caught a large trout while trying to get back to the dock with the old, terrible oars. It took us forever.(according to a neighbor that lived at the lake for 8 years, was first trout he heard about) I would of gave this place 5 starts if it wasn't for the oars and maybe some room for a firepit.

Great relaxing time!
The house was great...but location, location !! is it's best quality...enjoyed the paddle boat, fishing, swimming and sitting on the dock! Close to Glacier as well. We had an issue with the house prior to check in...an unfortunate but unforseeable, unavoidable issue that can happen to any home owner. We were suitably relocated and accomadated for our first night while the issue was addressed. Communication was great and we were financially compensated as well. Thanks for a memorable vacation!

Review of Spoon Lake Cabin
Overall, we had a lovely stay! The kitchen is fully decked out with everything that you would need including cooking utensils, baking pans, skillets, pots, tea kettle, etc. You are also supplied with sponges, paper towels and cleaning materials, so there is really no need to buy anything other than your food. I loved that there is a Smith's grocery store just 7-8 minutes away! While you cannot drink the tap water, the owner provided enough bottled water for our family for our entire stay which was greatly appreciated. The TV is large and worked well for family movie nights. The deck looks out onto the lake and provides a beautiful view. The pictures don't quite give you a sense of the bedrooms. The basement has two full-sized beds and can sleep 4. There is a half-bath down there as well along with the washer and dryer. The upstairs loft has an additional two full-sized beds; however, be aware that one of them is open and does not provide a lot of privacy. The master bath has a decent-sized shower, and the owners even provided bath soap, shampoo, conditioner and hand soap. The bathroom is carpeted which is a bit weird, but overall, it was very nice. We brought out puppy with us, and he had a great time! Be aware though that the house is surrounded by woods, so there is not a grassy area for your pet to do his business. It took our dog a day to get comfortable with where he was going to go. If you bring a small puppy/dog, I would suggest bringing a doggy gate. We did this, and it was extremely helpful. The stairs up to the loft have slits between them where a small animal could fall if not careful, and there was no door leading down to the basement. The doggy gate ensured that our pup was always safe. Our family had a great time on the lake. The paddle boat was a big hit and in good shape. The row boat is not in good shape. The pins are missing for the oars, so they slip out frequently as you are trying to row which was a pain. The owner provides life jackets; however, there are only two adult-sized ones, so if you have teenagers, there will not be enough for everyone. We never received check-in information, so we had to reach out the day before to find out about keys, etc. but they owners were quick to respond to the emails send through vrbo. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would consider staying there again. Only 20 minutes to Glacier National Park, 7-8 minutes to Smith's, and 20 minutes to Whitefish Beach. Great location!
