The hotel was ok and I would have given it a higher rating, but the tiny AC unit in the bedroom had to run full blast at night to keep the room cool and that kept me awake.

The front desk employee nor the maintenance employee on duty were able to operate the TV so I could enjoy Fox News. When I requested a refund of my $120 the owner said, "you want me to refund your $120 because you are unable to watch one channel?" I said yes, he said "no" and I moved to Super Eight. The owner may be a very successful business person, however, I believe he treated me unfairly and thus caused me to be an unhappy camper on my first visit to Butte. I was told the motel was served by a firm that did not allow Fox News.

The Jefferson Inn was superior in most respects especially when considering it's location about 20 miles from downtown Butte. The staff and accommodations are first rate and the owners offer a lot of small details that make the stay a bit more relaxing and personable. Whitehall is pretty tiny but there are good restaurants a short drive away, a large shop with antiques and Montana goods right next door and a gas station with very large convenience store attached right across the street.
