Summary: You'll be sure to enjoy the sea sounds and Gulf breezes from Annie by the Sea's multiple large decks at our newest coastal cottage, Annie by the Sea! This newer built unobstructed waterfront escape has a tons of windows and doors to allow you and your group to take in all the natural light and plentiful serene views. Beach vacations are not over-rated, and this location on Treasure Island is no exception! The Space: BED/BATH CONFIGURATION: \~ Large primary suite with King bed, en suite bath and private deck (main floor) \~ Bunk room with Twin over Full bunk bed (main floor) \~ 3rd bedroom with King bed and shared hall bath with 4th bedroom (upper floor) \~ 4th bedroom with 2 x Twin over Full bunks and shared hall bath with 3rd bedroom (upper floor) AMENITIES: outdoors - picnic table, charcoal grill, outdoor shower,; indoors: washer and dryer, complimentary Internet/WIFI, SmartTVs Note: the long stretch of beach and main access point is in the neighborhood at the end of Jolly Roger and is enjoyable for all beach and water activities. The small beach area you see in front of the house is great for shelling, sunning, fishing and general beach activities, but the state of TX does not allow swimming. Guest Access: EASY CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: It's easy to stay with us and secure too! Access the home electronically at 4pm on the date of your arrival with your unique lock code that we specifically give only to you via text and email. Your code is live from 4pm on your arrival date until 11am on the date of your departure. The Neighborhood: TREASURE ISLAND: The 979 Crew just loves this seaside and bayside community flanked by Galveston Island on one end and Surfside Beach on the other. On your drive, stop by the grocery store for your favorite grillables and beverages, make a pit stop at the bait shop to fill your bait bucket (great fishing in TI), and/or place a call to make arrangements to rent a golf cart - this is a very golf cart friendly spot. Enjoy the Gulfside's uncrowded pedestrian beach (no cars allowed for 300 yards but golf carts welcomed) where you can setup your group's camp for the day on the beach to build sandcastles, jump in the surf, find unique shells and sand dollars, boogie board, shore & surf fish and build an evening bonfire. Or if preferred, utilize the available launch for your boat or kayak or head to the fishing pier on the bayside. Some much to do so little time! Getting Around: SAN LUIS PASS: San Luis Pass and Treasure Island have been known all over the United States for being a saltwater fishing hotspot and the most amazing sunrises & sunsets! It is 15 minutes from Surfside and across the bridge from Galveston's west end and only about 25-30 minutes to the heart of Galveston Island's activities. Most people come to the area to spend quality 'non-commercialized" time with family, extended family, and friends! The front door needs to be fixed you had to really push to get it open and to close it you almost had to pull pretty hard. Other than that there was some minor issues but overall the entire stay was amazing. The sunrise every morning off the balcony was breathtaking. The walks on the beach and sunsets, my family really enjoyed. Located directly across from a little section of private beach, and fairly easy to get to the larger beach through the neighborhood. Great view, soft beds, fluffy towels, and everything you need for a group getaway. Property manager is very communicative left little extras for us. House is a little beat up, but no worse than what you would expect of a beach side rental. We had a 1 year old in our group and he was crawling everywhere and his knees/feet were black from the floor. I realize the place is on the beach and expect the floors to be a bit dirty, but not on the first day. Furniture was also noticeably dirty and had rips on the couch. This is not a deal breaker, again just noticeable. Upstairs bathroom could use a little maintenance as one towel holder was just 'hanging' on to the wall and we just laid it on the sink. Fake door fronts on sink were also broken and fell off numerous times. Do not rely on the internet as it did not stay connected. We chose not to contact anyone about this as we didn't really need; however, it would have been nice so that we could connect to shows for the one year old. Beds were comfortable, set up was nice with 2 bedrooms on main floor and 2 on 2nd floor. There were enough bathrooms to accommodate all in our group (a definite plus). Towels were very plush and we had plenty for all of us and able to do laundry when/if needed. Mosquitos were horrendous and the size of Texas! The property was clean and comfortable, with direct access to a beach for wading (signs posted advise against swimming there due to rip tides). A beach that is safe for swimming is a short two blocks away. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, cookware, and grilling tools. There are three bathrooms, but the downstairs bedroom’s attached bathroom has an odd tub/shower— you’ll have to sit down in the tub to use the shower due to the way it’s built. The property could use some minor maintenance; the coffee table is broken, stair treads are missing a cap, and the vinyl plank flooring has multiple gaps between planks that could pose a trip hazard. As noted by a different reviewer, the exterior could use a power wash. We were initially notified that the washer was broken and would be unavailable for our stay. After several text messages back and forth, the management company was able to secure a repair appointment for our second afternoon. The washer was fully functioning after that. House is clean and fully stocked, good communication by management. Would stay again. Only had two issues, neither of which was a dealbreaker. House is is need of a power wash and dishwasher doesn’t get power. We enjoyed it immensely. The space was clean and the view from the porch/balcony was beautiful. Loved the house. There was an issue with the refrigerator and I made contact with y’all and the issue was resolved right away. We had one new refrigerator that same day and had a second one delivered the next day. I will certainly recommend you in the future. It was clean, had plenty of rooms, a nice porch and direct beach access. It was great for the kids as well as adults. The beach directly in front of the property was great for little ones, but there's also a bigger beach just a couple blocks drive or walk from the house. The community was quiet and friendly.
