The perfect Colorado log cabin family vacation or romantic getaway spot! 'Mountain Song' is an authentic hand-crafted 5 bedroom, 6 bathroom log home nestled on the shoreline of a serene mountain lake bordering Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapahoe National Forest...with breathtaking mountain views.

So much to do here! Relax on the deck overlooking the lake and mountains, while the kids play on the sandy beach of Sun Valley Lake, a private non-motorized mountain lake. Guests enjoy full use of our canoe, pedal boat, bikes, and life vests.

Property has abundant wildlife and is natural habitat for Moose (Moose calves are born along our lake every spring). Known as the best place to view Moose up close in Grand Lake! Watch wildlife graze along the pristine mountain lake shoreline--just a few feet away from the deck! Elk, Deer, Fox, Otter, Beaver, Bear, Osprey, Hummingbirds are frequent visitors!

Our authentic full-log home has a warm, spacious feel with vaulted exposed log ceilings, large open-concept kitchen and family room area with wood burning fireplace. Kitchen is fully equipped, with dining table for up to 20! Home is tastefully decorated with comfortable, classic, mountain lodge decor.

3 bedrooms house a King bed with one bunk bed,1 queen bedroom and 1 Bunk room making this the perfect spot for 4 families or couples vacationing together!

The location of Mountain Song is absolutely ideal for all ages! Nestled right between Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapahoe National Forest, there are several trailheads within walking distance. Explore hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiiing, ATV’ing or snowmobiling right out the front door! A resort at the end of our road offers ATV’s, snowmobiles and horses for rent. The local championship 18 hole golf course is only 2 miles away.

The wonderful, friendly town of Grand Lake is only a 4 minute drive, and offers a full-service marina where you can rent pontoon boats and jet-skis, and there's a great family beach. Wander the downtown 'boardwalk' and explore numerous local art galleries, gift shops, restaurants, ice-cream shops, go-karts, bowling and more! A large grassy central park offers a great picnic spot and great playground area for the kids. Grand Lake is also known for it's fine live theater productions, check out the summertime drama productions!

Lots of bathrooms, which was great for us!
We had 5 families, 4 kids. It was a great place for us. We loved seeing moose everyday from our window. We enjoyed time on the lake and hot tub. Lots of games at the house for the rainy day. Close to a lot of fun things to do. We would stay there again.

The Best Christmas Vacation Spot for All Ages
This beautiful log cabin was perfect for our Christmas Vacation. From our 2 year old grandson all the way up to my 86 year old Mother-in-Law. The cabin was more amazing than the pictures. There was not one amenity left out. Our family of 14 fit easily and comfortably. Ali and Erick took care of our every need. We had one problem with the range and Erick and his son took care of it by replacing the range on CHRISTMAS EVE! Thank you Erick and Ali for helping our family have the best Christmas vacation experience ever!

A Blessed Home
Upon entering the house, we took a collective gasp at the beauty. So many things were so spot-on: solid construction; everything last little thing has been thought of; well-appointed; everything works; games galore, card table, big family dining table, hooks for everything, loads of space, well-stocked kitchen with loads of counter space, comfy beds, awesome bathrooms/showers, great hot tub, multiple options for dining locations, privacy, the lake, boats/kayaks/canoes, firepits, hummingbird feeders, and of course the moose sightings, which were multiple times/day (with babies in tow). And Pete the Pelican was a big surprise. The geese and ducks, the mountains, the thoughtfulness of the owners -- all top notch! Thank you!

Memorable stay
Our stay was absolutely perfect. The space was clean, and beautiful, and had everything we needed. The kids loved being able to fish in the lake, ride the bikes, and the adults enjoyed having so many different places to sit and relax. The proximity to the Rocky Mountain National Park is perfect for a long day hike, or a quick just a quick walk through. Our family enjoyed walking the beautiful downtown Grand Lake. We hope to stay again next year!

The cabin is amazing. Plenty of room and activities for three families kids ages 8-13. The wildlife was awesome including the fishing, humming birds, moose, and Bald Eagle sightings! The host was unbelievably responsive both before and during our stay! Perfect trip!

Great stay!
I was a little nervous because the listing was slightly confusing and seemed reused from the old property. But this property is AMAZING! They really made it feel homey. They had so many different utensils and spices in the kitchen it made it so easy to cook! The beds were extremely comfortable and we always felt warm in the house. Everything was so clean and well thought out! I highly recommend this home for large families like ours!

Amazing Cabin Amazing Beauty
We were beyond happy with our stay. The cabin was perfect. It was so spacious for our family of 4 with many sleeping options and the two bathrooms were a real plus. It was stocked with everything you could need and the kids loved picking out a new movie each night from the big selection. The lake and Mountain Views were stunning. We saw so many moose and elk. We loved the proximity to so many trails within walking distance, taking a horeseback ride just down the road with Winding Rivers and the couple mile drive into the park. The town is very cute with many shops and dining options. The grocery store situation is rough, however, with very limited options and sky high prices. I would recommend a stay here to EVERYONE. We couldn’t have had a better family getaway. Thank you!

Very charming and clean cabin on Sun Valley Lake. Kids loved the lofts and the living room was great due to large comfortable couches for all of us to fit for movie nights. Great ammenities and right next to Rocky Mountain Park. We enjoyed local trails, bikes and boats with the cabin. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful cabin, but note that dock is not private
Beautifully appointed, well-stocked, clean, and comfortable cabin. Kitchen had everything you need to cook a gourmet meal. Location was ideal and we enjoyed the views and saw a moose each evening around the lake. Internet was excellent. The only disappointment was that the dock was not private for our cabin and we didn't realize this. Granted, the VRBO description doesn't say that it's private, but it appears that way from the photos. From what we could tell, the dock is shared by about 4 cabins and was busy with families fishing, boating, and hanging out virtually all day long. This was a disappointment for us because we looked forward to a quiet, private dock, especially in the midst of the pandemic.

Beautiful lakeside cabin
We had a great 4th of July weekend at the cabin. Boating, fishing, moose, and so much fun! This place is even better than we expected. It was gorgeous, the kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. Hummingbirds were a joy to watch too. Would definitely recommend!

Sun Valley Lake Cabin
We enjoyed our stay at the lake cabin very much. The cabin was very nicely appointed and provided all the necessities needed to stay comfortably. The lake and surroundings were beautiful, and we particularly enjoyed fly fishing for trout. Saw bald eagle, osprey, geese, ducks and especially mother moose and her fawn. Very relaxing visit and hope to return.
