Fantastic staff, I am disabled with a prosthetic leg I was upgraded to a suite on the first floor at no extra cost, the pub on the property was super again with a very nice staff, I would recommend Whitneys wholeheartedly to everyone!
It was great the pool, hot tubs, sauna were still open in September. It would be nice if restaurant or bar opened at 4:00 instead of 5:00. And would be nice if water was offered or a soda machine was available in the afternoon since there is no lunch available. A better breakfast would be nice.
Great little mountain retreat! The outdoor area is great— pool, hot tubs, sauna and fire pits. They were much enjoyed after a long day of hiking! The staff was friendly and the Shovel Handle Pub had great food and libations. Would love to go back!
Whitney Inn is a good place to stay. The only real drawback was a very minimal "grab and go breakfast". Otherwise, was clean, staff was courteous, and adjoining restaurant had some good food.

The room we had was very small compared to what we paid for it. It was outdated and coul have had better lighting. It was somewhat noisy because it was on the bottom floor and the water flushes from upstairs were frequent. Also, the adjoining bar and restaurant music was loud and intrusive.. The bathroom was very small and didn't have enough space for toiletries.
We did like the self serve continental breakfast and eating area, as well as the outdoor spaces.

Very nice staff, comfortable room and access to great amenities.
The grounds at Whitney Inn are beautiful and well maintained. We had a perfectly good stay here. The only reason for a less than stellar review is that we chose this Inn because my parents had previously stayed there and loved the room and amenities and wanted to have the same experience again. However when we arrived, it turned out our room was in an auxiliary building across the property in an older building without all the beauty and charm of the Inn itself. At the pricepoint we paid for what we thought was going to be the same high end Inn experience as the last time they stayed there, we were a little disappointed. That being said, the property and pub were stellar and we were perfectly comfortable. Just wish it had been noted in the Expedia description that we were not getting a room in the actual Inn building itself.
Great location, good value for money, nice restaurant and bar. Traditional style ski lodge, not too many onsite amenities but access to them from a sister property.
Very comfortable, clean and welcoming place to stay. Everyone that works there is very helpful and kind. Love to hear about the history of the farm in Black Mountain ski area. So glad it is increasing and popularity and as we left today, they were grooming the trails and people were pulling in the parking lot to do some spring skiing. Simply amazing amazing!
