Peaceful Oasis

Great Cottage in a Great Location

Quiet, perfect location

The location is perfect! A quick run to Costco isn't too far away, and beautiful beaches are only a short walk or drive. We really enjoyed the beach chairs, boards and snorkel gear in the condo. Peaceful and quiet meals out on the lanai were a relaxing part of our trip. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and wanted. Would absolutely stay here again!

Excellent Property!

Highly recommend this property! Perfect accommodations for a family of 4: bedrooms on separate floors gave everyone space; beach gear was available for use (chairs, body board); kitchen suited our needs. Very clean property with plenty of fans (no central air, but we were comfortable the whole time).

Ideal space and location

This stay was clean, quiet, spacious, and in a great location. Walking distance to several beaches and trails. So relaxing, I cannot say enough about it. It was the perfect place for my significant other and I, but would definitely work well for a small family, especially if you want kitchen amenities for cooking. The host was responsive to questions. We will definitely stay again in the future and will recommend to friends and family!

Fun in Kauai!

We had a great time in Kauai. Poppy Crater#26 was a great location. It was central to all the beaches and spots we wanted to go. After our days out, it was always nice to come back and enjoy the lanai. We ate all our meals out there and played cards most evenings. It was nice that it was covered. We had everything we needed. Appreciated having a desisignated parking spot. Had a great time!

Great location for exploring Kaua'i

We loved the location of this property. It was a short walk to the beach. The rest of the island was within a reasonable car ride. Restaurants nearby were excellent. We liked that there were boogie boards, chairs, and an umbrella to use on the beach. And access to the tennis court was fun for my kids. There were a couple of minor problems with the condo that were promptly taken care of once I got in touch with the proprietor. I would definitely recommend this place for a family of four.

Beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds comfortable. It was warm even in November. The fans were great, but it was still a bit warm upstairs. There are some signs of wear like some peeling paint on the doors from humidity and a door didn’t lock, but for the price and location the house is excellent. The walk to the beach is a bit steep, but not bad. Communication was good. Overall very happy we stayed.

Great Rental

Nice big rental with everything you need a available. The no AC was a big concern going in, but in mid October the temperature was just cool enough at night to make it work. If it was hotter then it would def have been an issue.

Lovely resort

Poipu crater resort was lovely small boutique resort in a tropical lush setting. The vacation rental was very spacious. We unfortunately couldn’t use the lanai to often due to it being to windy. The house was not as clean as we would have liked. Kristen took care of that. The house can do with some Tlc for the price you pay.

Poipu beach, great stay

We all loved the Vrbo at poipu beach. It was a short walk to the beach, beautiful views and wildlife around the stay (banana and coconut trees, toads, snails, and other critters!) also close to everyone else who was staying in and around the resort. The pool is nice and warm and the condo was spacious. We did not know it didn’t have AC but it cooled down at night and had fans and was comfortable for sleeping. Additionally, the dishes could have been a bit cleaner. All in all, it was a great trip and wonderful stay at the crater.

September Stay

Property was as described. May be the time of year but was warm even with the ceiling fans. Would not recommend for older people,we are on our 70's, as the walk leading up to the unit is steep and has several steps which make getting the luggage in the unit difficult. The pictures do not show the elevation difference between the parking area and the entrance to the unit. Great place for younger people.

It's very jungley like. You can hear tons of birds and roosters. We loved it, some might not. It's a little uphill to get to the condo but not to bad. There's a pool, ping pong table and grills right outside the building. It's a short walk to the beach about 10 to 15 min. Short drive to shops and restaurants, about 5 min. We ould definitely stay there again. Uber is hard tonget around in. Rental car is strongly suggested.

Real crater!

This is a nice clean comfortable unit with a beautiful well sheltered lanai that gets the morning sun, wonderful breakfast spot. We didn’t realize when we booked it but the name does hint at the fact that you are really in a crater. The turn off the street into the complex drops probably about 30 feet to your parking spot, then there is maybe 12-15 foot climb back up the sidewalk to get to the unit. We are able bodied so it wasn’t that big of a deal but we had planned on doing a little more walking from the unit to the beaches and shops. We ended up driving most places instead. This unit is pretty good value for your dollar I think with somewhat dated fixtures and furnishings but it was comfortable and functional. There was a shortage of Kleenex, garbage bags and no sink stopper for the kitchen sink and it seems the towels had been put away while still damp by the cleaners before our stay, so those were down points but all around we were quite satisfied.

Nice but lacking a few things

We enjoyed our visit, thanks. Here are some suggestions: -- Include a set of instructions/helpful info about the rental, including operation of electronics, recycling, places to get groceries, restaurant recommendations, etc. -- Add a bath mat next to the upstairs tub (as-is, the one in vanity must be moved there) -- Add towel bars or hooks to wall(s) near the upstairs tub -- Include more toilet tissue in the rental -- Add soap or body wash to the upstairs tub -- Add fan above the table in the dining area -- Replace the circular table in dining area with a rectangular one (as-is, there's not enough room for someone to get around it if three people are seated in the chairs nearest the living room -- Relabel the light switches that currently say "Lamps" (they didn't seem to control anything; at least, we couldn't figure it out) -- Add a first-aid kit (maybe we missed?) Should be mentioned in the house instructions -- see first suggestion above. Thanks!

Charming bungalow in lush, quiet community

A beautiful home in a lovely and well maintained garden complex. This property was the perfect size for two adult couples (late 30s) vacationing in Kauai for 5 days. We were worried about not having AC, but at the end of April, the unit caught nice breezes that kept the rooms perfectly comfortable. A small portable fan would be most welcome in the downstairs bathroom, as it became uncomfortably humid and warm when showers and laundry were running with no means of circulating air with the door closed. We really appreciated the large beach towels and high quality bath towels. I never travel without earplugs and an eye mask, and I recommend them to anyone coming here who prefers perfect darkness and silence for sleeping. I can't speak for the loft bedroom, but the main floor bedroom did let in some (not too much) light in the morning, and the sounds of birds, roosters, and critters of the (beautiful!) gardens. Come prepared and you'll sleep just fine. The pool area is lovely - complete with 8ft pool, lounge chairs, grill, shaded tables/chairs and more stunning tropical flora. The residents we met were friendly and welcoming. The assigned parking stall made parking hassle free, and the location of the quite community was very convenient. This was our favorite location of the places we stayed on our 3-island vacation.

The location was very private and quiet, with easy access to the beach, local restaurants and attractions. We would have enjoyed better outdoor lighting when returning in the evening along the upper sidewalk. The home was outfitted with everything you could need during your stay. The beds were very comfortable. We appreciated the beach chairs, cooler and umbrella on our day trips. We enjoyed the lanai every morning listening to the birds and rustle of the trees in the breeze. We also found the pool refreshing and surrounding area to be very clean. Destination Kauai was very communicative and we have recommended this location to our friends. Would definitely stay again on our next trip to the beautiful island of Kauai.

Very well appointed place, which we appreciated! The breeze was lovely and we didn't miss having air conditioning. Quiet location close to Poipu beaches and within short drive to groceries. Pool was pleasant! Our family of four had plenty of space and we loved the airy upstairs bedroom. Communication with the hosts was prompt. Overall great!
