A contemporary wooden house, designed as a family home, 300 m from the beach. The living space runs through the house from one garden to the other, and the celadon kitchen opens onto the lounge. Graphic wallpaper, raw wood, linen and objects found on the island. Three bedrooms sleeping 8, a south-facing terrace and a north garden with a built-in barbecue. L’Épine village is a ten-minute walk away, with the salt marshes and the port of Morin just behind.
The living space
Life happens in the large living room. A glass sliding door at each end, the garden on one side, the terrace on the other, and light flowing through the house from morning to evening. The corner sofa seats everyone, and its mustard throw has become the house’s signature. The kitchen opens onto the room: celadon units, solid wood worktop, large farmhouse sink, white metro tiles and mirrored splashback. Induction hob, fan oven, microwave and dishwasher. Krups bean-to-cup coffee machine, and SMEG fridge, kettle, toaster and blender. Next to it, the large table and its bentwood chairs seat 8, under a linen petal pendant. In summer, dinner is outside, also for 8. Comfort: underfloor heating throughout, 440 Mbit/s fibre wifi, Samsung The Frame TV with Netflix and Prime Video, PlayStation 4 for rainy afternoons.
The bedrooms
Each has its own feature wall and atmosphere. The blue room: a 160 x 200 bed facing a large indigo wall hanging, a teak chest of drawers and a reading lamp. It is the quietest room in the house. The sand room: two 90 x 200 beds, separate or joined as 180 x 200, cloud wallpaper, an antique mirror and a window onto the olive tree. The children’s room: two 90 x 200 beds with mattress toppers, can be joined as 180 x 200, plus an occasional sofa bed for extra sleeping. They open onto a midnight-blue hallway with wooden battens, hung with landscapes of the island.
The rest
Shower room with walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Two separate toilets, very handy in the morning. In the garage: washer-dryer, table and iron.
Outdoors
The south terrace keeps the sun until evening: that is where the days end, glass in hand. On the north side, a second, more sheltered garden has the built-in barbecue and its table. For the children, a trampoline and a ping-pong table.
Access
The house is entirely yours, with both gardens, the terrace and the garage. Self check-in with a smart lock; the code is sent before your arrival. Parking is inside the property. Entrance height is limited: motorhomes and high-top vans cannot enter.
