“Old building so quirks expected. Cross Keys single room nice, bathroom clean, heating good and adjustable. All staff very pleasant and helpful, Manager, Chef, Housekeeping, and others. Specially enjoyed bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast. Let me leave cabin case on premises after checkout until later in the day. “Mark , his wife and team create a friendly atmosphere where nothing is too much of a problem. My only criticism would be the standard of the croissants and danish pastries. they never looked fresh and appetising, the croissants were very bready, I will let you off the fruit selection because the whole country suffers from that!!!”

“Friendly staff, good size room, bathroom smaller just a good shower, not bath, but ok and windowsill meant you had room to store toiletries. Room next to road but no noise with double glazing. 3 choices of breakfast depending on how hungry you were. Ideal for Chatsworth, go across the road & you are able to get in the grounds & take a walk across to the house. ”

“Just needed a spot of luxury after a heavy weekend. This fitted the bill to a tee. Very comfortable, and welcoming, with excellent food and pleasant service. The only possible complaint would be that the room was a bit cramped, but that happens in older buildings.”

The welcome is lovely, the room was excellent and fairly large compared to say the chain hotels, everything you could wish for provided - kettle, water etc….Food is really good and very large portions so beware you need to be hungry especially at breakfast and not just the “Full breakfast”. “A generally very good three night stay. Staff are great, food quality and options exceptional and a comfy bed. Only downside was being woken twice very early morning by loud plumbing noises.”
