I give Hotel Casa Alquimia 5☆ because there are no more stars to add. I absolutely loved my stay there with my family. Andre was very responsive and accommodating and all of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. I really appreciated the hotel's added service of being picked up and dropped off at the airport for a reasonable price. Additionally, I waited last minute to book a tour so there were no available tours for the days I wanted, but I didn't know that the hotel also offered a variety of tours that luckily I was able to book very quickly with the help of management. I was very grateful for our tour guide Yoel, and driver Manuel who were very professional, knowledgeable and fun to be around. They took us to "Baños" were my family and I enjoyed several activities all strategically put together to get the best nature experience I could asked for. My kids completely loved this adventure Yoel prepared for us, the restaurant he suggested and the patience to answer all our questions about the country. Finally, the hotel is so beautiful and conveniently located. Everything inside the hotel looks cozy, nicely decorated and well-preserved, keeping its original style intact. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, healthy and prepared by the nicest people ever. I never thought I would fall in love with Quito so much. Whenever I come back to Ecuador, I'm definitely coming back Hotel Casa Alquimia. I'm really thankful to them for making our stay so unique and memorable.

Illa Experience Hotel is an absolutely beautiful property with both historic and modern elements. Our room (a second floor suite with views of the charming street) was incredibly spacious and well appointed. Indeed, the entire hotel was renovated with thoughtful details. The service was off the charts... seriously - the kindest, most helpful staff ever. They went out of their way to make our stay a pampered one - from accommodating a late check out to sourcing needed medicine in Quito. And the view from the second floor bar of the hills and the Angel of Quito was breathtaking. What a treat!

This boutique hotel is fabulous! We are in the Room with a View and it is huge and spacious, with two large bedrooms and 1.5 baths. Each room is decorated cleverly and is squeaky clean. The refrigerator is filled with food for breakfast or snacking, all included in the price. Arriving late at night it was fantastic not to have to look for an open restaurant. Instead we ate yogurts and made cheese sandwiches with the very fresh loaf of bakery bread. The room is also quiet, although we are a short walk from the center of the Old City. The staff member on duty when we arrived, Joz, was incredibly friendly and helpful and explained how to use the coffee maker and stove (yes, you can make eggs for breakfast!) and how to operate the front door for exit and entry. He was very thorough and so kind and happy to have us staying in this incredible hotel. If you want a unique experience in an 18th century home that has been refitted into an incredible hotel, stay here!

We stayed at Hotel Patio Andaluz in Quito for 4 nights. The building itself is beautiful and the location is great, right in the historic center. The staff were all very kind, friendly, and helpful, which we really appreciated. However, unfortunately, our stay was not restful at all. There was major construction going on inside the hotel, and this was not mentioned anywhere on Expedia’s website when we booked. The noise started in the morning and continued until around 4–5 PM every day, making it impossible to relax or rest in the room. We spoke to reception and they kindly offered to change our room, but the noise came from the central patio area, so it didn’t make any difference. In addition, we discovered that $72 USD was missing from the cash we had in our safe. We’re not sure how it happened, possibly we forgot to lock it properly, but it was still very upsetting. Overall, while we appreciated the staff’s friendliness and the charm of the building, the construction noise and the unpleasant incident with the missing money made our experience quite disappointing. I hope the management will clearly inform guests about renovations in the future.

As a gold member I didn't get a room upgrade or free late check out. The room is very clean and comfortable.
