"This classic hotel, in near-constant service since the 19th Century, is a pleasant place to rest after a busy day. It is near the riverfront walk, and the town of Rising Sun is a calm place to spend some time. Just outside of town is a wolf refuge that is well worth the time to visit, and the drive along the river from and to the Interstate is beautiful. When the owner saw that we were all one family, she moved us from our two rooms into a three-room suite at no additional charge, which we greatly appreciated."

"Batesville is a surprisingly nice little town. The Sherman is cute and clean. There are multiple places to walk to in the downtown area. "
