I booked this hotel after our arrival to Madrid and the main reason was the review I read here. I noticed a consensus with how great services is at this hotel. Those reviews were right. The service staff at this hotel is spectacular. The security folks, receptionists, pool lifeguard, rooftop bartenders. Awesome! I also read that reviews stating that they should play music at the rooftop and I agree with that as well. I will return to this hotel.

Great buffet breakfast. Very pleasant restaurant and bar staff. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable, well air-conditioned (essential with summer temperatures). Lobby was a little tired and could do with some refurbishing.
Lots of shopping in the immediate area. Parque del Retiro and Thyssen and Prado museums are walking distance away. The neighborhood where the hotel is located has many retail shops, easy access to metro, bus and taxis, but it is not big on charm or history.
