“The cabin was very clean and just the right size for me, my wife and our dog. The owner was great with communication. The only downside was the entire lake had weeds growing to nearly the top of the water, so it is not swimmable. ”

“It's a nice property in a quite and peaceful setting. We had two adult couples, and found that there was room for all of us. The folding table leafs in the family room and kitchen were a nice addition for utilizing space. Since we were meeting friends at another lake property while in town, we didn't take advantage of the lake front features.”

“Great little cabin for a small family, had toys for our daughter to use and water toys for adults to use too. Super private and was close to enough to a store to run for something if we forgot something. Definitely recommend for a weekend getaway!”

“We had a great long weekend in July 2025.PROS - Kitchen is great. Air conditioning is strong in the main room. Beds were comfortable, plenty of sleeping room. Main level master is plenty spacious. The 2 upstairs bedrooms have queen bunks - queen top and bottom. Bathrooms had body wash and shampoo. Plenty of towels were available. Indoor rocking chairs were comfy, along with the sectional. “We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean and ready for us to settle in. There were plenty of bath towels, hand soap, dish soap, etc. The beds were comfortable and there were good amenities. Kitchen was well stocked. I'd recommend adding a cheese grater and measuring spoons though. :) There is a loft with 4 beds and a couple of couches. Great place for kids to hang. We loved the enclosed porch that faced the lake. Thanks! We'll be back!”

“It was just as the pictures looked. Super cute, cozy cabin, steps from Lake Minnewaska. The owners were very accessible and very communicative everyday! Check in was easy and quick. We walked to Glenwood almost everyday for coffee and breakfast. Walked along the beach too! We loved it!”

“The Playhouse was everything my dad and I could have asked for while in the area for a local fishing tournament. Bob and Karen are truly hosts that go above and beyond. The property and Playhouse are so cozy and peaceful. We’d love to stay again! ”

“Cowdry cabin and Hut worked perfectly for two couples getting away.The cabin to water proximity is perfect and flat.Plenty of and varied outdoor chairs to choose from and the lake is the show. Morning dancing dragonflies, loons and ducks, and spectacular sunsets.Cabin is charming and comfortable, plenty of space to spread out to read and relax or get together for meals and cards.I recommend to others looking for an Alexandria lake front stay. “House was great it was clean even better than pictures. Has more than 1 fridge which having more people is a plus. Yard was flat to lake so easy access to the lake. Chuck and Debbie were great at responding to anything we had questions about, and they were very flexible on dates that had changed.Definitely stay there again and will also tell friends and family about this so they can have the same great experience we did.”
