The rooms were lovely although the stairs were tough on all of us with bad knees. Next time, we will know better. Everyone seemed very nice until we stepped out of line. The four of us had dinner in their restaurant the first night. It came to about $600 and the bill was split into two. Neither of the husbands who paid the bills, received an itemized receipt. They were just given the machine with a total. My friend and I asked the restaurant manager for the full bill and we were told he cannot pull it up, that it was technically impossible. We are business women and knew this was not true. We persisted and eventually the bill emerged the next day. It left a bad taste. The young men who served us were amazing. We enjoyed their can do attitude. The young woman sense of humour was fantastic! When we were preparing to leave on the Monday after 4 days, I wasn't feeling well and asked the housekeeper who came by if we could have a little more time. She said yes. We rushed anyway and thought we would be close to on time. I have arthritis, bursitis, and terrible tennis elbow, which all caught up with me after a busy trip. The older woman at the front desk scolded me repeatedly. I told her I cleared it with someone else and she said with wide eyed and hard mouthed "That's NOT ME". Yikes. I'm not 55. I'm 5 years old and the kindergarten teacher caught me coming in late from recess What a way to end our lovely vacation -- the first one in a decade. Sad.
