"We just left this morning and were so sad to go. My partner and I eloped on Punta UVA beach and stayed at the beachfront bungalows in the master suite with the Jacuzzi. Staff were wonderful and friendly, the room was gorgeous, and the beach was proximate. They offer free parking which is a game changer given how busy this area gets. Our stay would’ve been perfect if our Jacuzzi in the room got a bit warmer, but we preferred the beach anyway. I’d go back again and again!"

"We had an amazing time!! The property is well maintained...the staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for local dining options outside of the hotel.. but the hotel had one of the best burgers I've ever tasted!! My wife and I enjoyed it so much....we are planning our return!"

"When you see that this VRBO has such high ratings, there is a reason. It was fabulous! The property is as beautiful as the pictures. You are tucked into the jungle, but within walking distance to a grocery store, roadside market, restaurants, and the beach. The walking path to the beach is even magical. The landscaping on the property is a vacation all on its own. We saw monkeys, a cute agouti family, beautiful birds and butterflies, and even a sloth. We went in the "rainy season" (June) and were a bit nervious about what that would look like, but that was even magical. It rained everyday, but not for very long, and I kept talking videos off the back porch, because it was so beautiful, warm, and relaxing. We took a dance class on the back patio with a local lady that Erinn recommended. The house was open, comfortable, and felt in harmony with the beauty of the property. You will see this in other reviews, but Erinn was amazing too. You can tell that she really cares about the time you are having and wants you to feel welcome. She truly goes above and beyond in so many ways. And lastly, I debated going to the Pacific side, or the Carribean side of Costa Rica. I haven't been to the Pacific side yet, but the richness of culture, the natural beauty, the variety of scenery, the friendliness of the locals, the food...even the drive down from San Jose was incredible. We just fell in love with this area, and Casa Bonita was the beautiful home-base of our adventures. Grateful!"

"The property is set in amazing rainforest gardens, the hosts are charming and welcoming and so enthusiastic about the wildlife in the area, so happy to show visitors the frogs and lizards, sloths and birds. "Very nice cabins. The ones closest to the road can be a little noisy but not unbearable. Great restaurant on the property. We also visited a nearby Caribbean restaurant called Lidia’s for delicious food. The beach is walking distance behind the property but you have to search for a safe spot to swim due to big surf "

"Shawandha Ecolodge had incredibly kind and helpful staff. The bungalow was charming and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was tasty and plentiful. The only thing that made my stay less than ideal was the construction 2 bungalows away from me. I understand there’s no truly great time to do construction, but having saws and hammering begin at 8 am and not stop until after 5 pm made it impossible to sleep in or get rest during the daytime, and for me that was kind of a big deal. I was forced to leave the property in order to have quiet. Otherwise this was a fabulous place to stay. "
