Kiwengwa is like Little Italy and has been for some decades. The beach is a bit more crowded than others further north. If you want a place with a little nightlife, Kiwengwa is your spot.
Kiwengwa is definitely a lively beach scene with no shortage of resort hotels. If you're interested in nightlife and kiting, you will like this spot. There is a heavy Italian influence that has been present for quite some time.
No swimming at low tide - have to walk out to the reef to swim/snorkle. Water can often be murky.
Had lunch at the Essence Hotel.. excellent food, pleasant atmosphere on beach, felt very safe.
Why not spend a lazy afternoon at Pwani Mchangani Beach during your trip to Pwani Mchangani? While you're in the area, stroll along the beaches.
Drift off under an umbrella at the private beach resort and notice local women working in the seaweed farms of the public section.
