It’s really a fun place to stay at. We had a problem with the door… but it got worked out. We got one with a private bathroom and well worth it. Highly recommend.

Wonderful and unique place to stay. Make sure to get the igloo with the bathroom. We were surprised how clear the dome was to see the stars and we were so lucky to see an incredible aurora from the comfort of our bed.

The aurora was a truly fun experience! I think of it more as clamping instead of a hotel like experience. Nature does come into the igloo. Our igloo did not have clear windows for viewing, so we had to go out and wipe them ourselves. There were also lots of spiders to deal with (including on the bed). Again, it is nature and like camping but I feel like that could have been minimized. Communication and check in was flawless except for the door was hard to open. It is explained but still difficult to open. We enjoyed our stay but would not stay more than one night!

Glamping under the stars

Nice glamming stay. Some issues (eg heater did not work, coffeemaker broken), but they fixed promptly.

We had a magical time- it was gorgeous, and the details of the igloo was great. Just like the other reviews I read, we ran into problems of opening the door. Two other couples were checking in the same time and had the same issue. You should email your guests a video of how to open the door. We had a hard time getting OUT of our room as well.

What a unique place to stay! We look for creative venues to stay in our travels and this fit the description. The sheep wandering by our igloo and the cows and/or horses in the distance added to the ambiance. We didn’t get lucky enough to see Northern Lites, but boy what an opportunity that would be to lay in bed and see these from your igloo! Very comfortable. Plenty warm with heated mattress pads and floors. Room was very hot upon arrival due to being heated by the sun in the day but cooled off rather quickly. The door opening and lock system does leave something to be desired though. We checked out the Aegissidufoss Falls down the road from the igloo. We also walked the Hella River Walk Trail. Very near the Caves of Hella and American Bus Cafe. Food options very convenient. Seljalandsfoss Falls approx 30 min away so could over nite location for exploring that and the Skogafoss falls another 20-30 min past that.

It was definitely a cool experience, although I would just caution people that sleeping here when it's light for almost 24 hours will definitely be a much different experience than when it's very dark. During the lighter months, you will not see the northern lights but it's still very fun!

Gorgeous stay in the dome!

We spent one night here as a fun novelty. Unfortunately it was cloudy, so we didn't see the northern lights or stars but that's ok! It was still a really fun quirky place to stay that was extremely comfortable and cute. Be aware: you can book an ingloo WITH or WITHOUT a bathroom. We booked one without a private bathroom so you have to walk a minute to the common building by the parking lot, it has multiple bathrooms and showers and a little kitchenette with a sink and espresso machine for use. It was like fancy camping. They had fresh towels, shampoo, etc. But we were surprised b/c we didn't read the fine print. Expensive but worth it for us for one night.

After an initial issue of getting into igloo( key was not working and had to be worked on back and forth for 30 minutes) and not being able to get a hold of anyone after initial call, we got in and wow view and the auroras showed up and the view of the auroras and sky was beyond the purview of my vocabulary. Overall magnificent.

A great experience sleeping under the stars and watching 4hours of the Aurora. Stayed warm with the heaters and enjoyed a lovely sunrise. So glad we chose a unit with attached bathroom! Only issue was unlocking the door. Took several tries but finally unlocked even following the lifting up the handle instructions

Beautiful glass globes with wonderful views. We were lucky to see Nothern lights laying on our bed all night. What a show. The morning was glorious as well, with some handsome Icelandic ponies grazing in the idyllic fields. The igloo was warm with heated floors, and the attached bath unit was immaculate and ergonomically contructed, with coffe/tea, and a lovely standin shower. Highly recoemmended.

Firstly, the service room does not have a direction noted at the entrance to the poperty. The confirmation letter has a aerial photogragh however the view is not from the entrance. A highlighted road would be nice. The picture on Expedia depicts a unit with and attached shower and toilet. What I rented was just a bedroom dome. It was an experience. A very cold night with multiple restroom stops will not make you a happy camper. The igloo is like glamping. The service room offers toilets, showers, towels and specialty coffee machine. The internet has a choice of standard or 5G. There is no back up generator. We lost area wide power for a few hours after midnight. The igloo got extremely cold. The sleepless night caused a big rift in out activities for the next day. We called the provided number to ask how to find the service room to pick up our key three times. We called when the power went out. The calls were answered. There is no onsite personnel. Cleaning occurs in the morning. If towels run out in the evening you my be out of luck for a shower.

Issues with Igloo

We were excited to stay here and are not a picky couple. We think the idea and location is great, but the crack/rip in the floor I kept catching my foot on sucked. The shower is literally so tiny. The igloo was cool, but in the summer, the hot sun was not very nice and the AC unit couldn’t keep up. At night the heater wasn’t very good, blowing cold air. I looked up how to use the remote lol … the door was hard to lock and unlock. You have to lift the handle but no sign saying to do so. Finally, no housekeeping done and we were going to stay for 3 days but left a day early because it wasn’t comfortable. There was dust in the vents in the WC. The view is pretty, but an bit anticlimactic… just a field. Maybe it’s better in winter time, but it’s def more a glamping experience. Also, we had dirty/stained sheets and only 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 days for two people. We ran out on day two and had to buy one. I’m glad places like this exist but if you are planning on staying, make it only one night. Oh, and the flies buzzing inside our igloo were terrible and I found dead ones under the bed. Could have been better with that. I slept in a tent on the Laugavegur Trail during this trip so I’m not a princess. I think they could do a lot better! We lost a few hundred dollars on this one. Go all the way to Vik and stay there. Much better accommodations there.
