After you've visited all of the terrific sights in Brooklyn, there's a lot more to see in the surrounding region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and hit the open road. Here are some drives you're sure to love:

• Launceston is 70 miles from Brooklyn. Renowned sights like Cataract Gorge deserve to be at the top of your list while you're in town.
• Around 120 miles away, Derwent Valley Council is also a hit with wanderers. Be sure to experience Mt. Wellington while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love staying a while in this buzzing city.
