Car Rental Desert Springs

Once you've covered all the terrific sights in Desert Springs, there's heaps more to see in the surrounding region. Collect the keys to a rental car, throw your bags in the trunk and take to the open road. We've pulled together some road trips we know you'll enjoy:

• Make your way to Mount Zeil for a fun-filled sightseeing adventure. Roughly 75 miles from Desert Springs, it's home to lots of cool sights, including Glen Helen Gorge.
• Situated 75 miles away, Namatjira is also a hit with wanderers. Make sure you check out Ellery Creek Big Hole while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love visiting this colorful city.
• Uluru is 210 miles from Desert Springs and is one of the region's most spectacular nature spots. Go for a wander around and enjoy the fresh air.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Australia, then it's likely you'll need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it won't be valid on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some added requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be 25 or over in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before driving away. Usually, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on off-road areas with your rental car.
