Once you've been to all of the great sights in Vallejo, there's loads more to see in the region. Collect the keys to a rental car, throw your luggage in the trunk and take to the open road. We've pulled together some drives we know you'll enjoy:

• Head to Cuernavaca for an excellent sightseeing adventure. Roughly 40 miles from Vallejo, it has lots of amazing attractions like Cuauhnahuac Regional Museum.
• Why not see the wonders of Puebla too? Notable sights in this colorful city include Africam Safari. Puebla is approximately 65 miles from Vallejo.
• La Ropa Beach is approximately 200 miles from Vallejo and is one of the region's most scenic nature spots. Stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Mexico, then you may need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car. You should also note that if an IDP is required, it won't be valid on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. A few other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or older in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before driving away. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with your rental car.
