Car Rental Xinshi

After you've been to all of the well-known attractions in Xinshi, there's more to explore in the surrounding region. Collect the keys to a rental car, toss your bags in the trunk and hit the open road. We've pulled together some drives we know you'll enjoy:

• Kaohsiung is 30 miles from Xinshi. Renowned tourist spots like Lotus Pond deserve a place on your must-see list while you're in town.
• Approximately 85 miles away, Taichung is also a hit with wanderers. Make time to check out Taichung Park while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love coming to this vibrant city.
• Visit Taipei 101 to feel grounded in nature. Take a picnic to enjoy or just relax and unwind. From Xinshi, it's 160 miles away.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Taiwan, then you'll likely need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. You should also be aware that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll need to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. A few other things to note to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or over in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the fine print before sliding behind the wheel. You typically can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with a rental vehicle.
