Once you've visited all of the fabulous attractions in Zona Rio, there's a lot more to see in the region. Collect the keys to a rental car, toss your bags in the trunk and get going. We've pulled together some road trips we're confident you'll love:

• Head off to Ensenada for a fun-filled sightseeing adventure. Roughly 50 miles from Zona Rio, it's home to loads of amazing sights, including First Street.
• Your next pit stop? Mexicali, which is around 90 miles away. Plaza La Gran Via is one local highlight you won't want to miss.
• Spend time in nature and take in the serenity at Malecón San Felipe. You'll find it roughly 170 miles from Zona Rio.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Mexico, then you may need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. You should also note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll be asked to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some added requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be 25 or over in most places to rent a car. If you're younger, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the fine print before getting behind the wheel. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with a rental car.
