This old style Motel is a great stay. The rooms, lobby office area and area around the motel are very clean. The rooms are very comfortable with a table and chairs, small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The price is great! You don't get this in most hotels anymore unless you pay for a premium room. We will definitely stay here again when we are up this way.

This hotel near a horse ranch and backdropped by mountains was a pleasant and affordable setting for our week at Yellowstone. The drive to Yellowstone's west gate was about 10 minutes away and went through a small resort town that offered all the necessary amenities and good dining and shopping. A leather chair in the hotel's beautifully decorated lobby was where I snuggled in each evening to process photos from the day's adventures. The staff members were a delight to talk to and had intimate knowledge of the area. I loved the cinnamon rolls and my husband enjoyed the waffle maker at breakfast.

Cabins were over 20 miles from West Yellowstone. When I booked, I searched for places to stay in West Yellowstone, not someplace so far away. Also, road into cabins was poorly plowed and as it got warmer and snow became slush it was an adventure getting to and from our cabin.

High end luxury amenities - the junior penthouse was as advertised! The staff is excellent and met our every need. The food at the Sporting Club was fantastic - we had a complimentary breakfast each morning to start our day. It is about 30 minutes from town, but worth it. If you plan to ski every day, you might consider a ski resort, as Sylvan Lodge caters more to fly fishing, golf, equestrian, etc. and many other winter sports. There is heli skiing as well! Awesome amenities, including spa and incredible work out facility and classes. This resort does not disappoint.

So convenient! Everything from the clean rooms, daily breakfast, daily mountain shuttle (shout out to Jeff our driver), and the proximity to downtown Jackson, the 49er is a great place to stay and enjoy JH and its surroundings.
