Parrot Beach Cottages on Siesta Key is mere steps - approximately 150 feet - from the beach and the emerald water, situated just behind the waterfront properties and within walking distance of Siesta Key Village. Occupying roughly 275-300 square feet, Suite #4 is small but fully furnished, offering one queen bedroom, a queen-size sleeper sofa, a bathroom, and a compact kitchen that can accommodate up to two adults and two small children. This suite is located on the second floor at Parrot Beach Cottages, up a flight of approximately 12 steps. It's a small space, so if you're using the sleeper sofa (which has a thin mattress and is really only suitable for small kids), you'll likely want to stow it during the day to maximize the living room. The bathroom, which has pocket doors on either side that make it accessible from both the living room and the bedroom, has a single sink, a toilet, and a shower/tub combination. On the grounds of the property, you'll also have access to a small deck that's shared with another suite, an outdoor pool downstairs, and one reserved, off-street parking space to make your stay all the more convenient. Parrot Beach Cottages is a two-story building that sits 150 feet from Siesta Key Public Beach Access 2, providing you with unbeatable access to one of the top white sand beaches in the world. This area of the beach is a favorite for sunbathing, swimming, romantic sunset walks, small beach weddings, skim boarding, paddleboarding, kayaking, shore fishing, and much more. Fishermen catch everything from snapper and mackerel to snook and jacks. You'll be within walking distance of a number of businesses that rent all sorts of gear, from kayaks and paddleboards to bikes and video game systems. Due to how close the complex is to the beach, several rental outfitters will bring kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes right to the property and pick them up when you're done! The suite is also within easy walking distance of Siesta Key Village, where you'll find shops, restaurants, live music, and more. Or, head into town for other local adventures, including the world-renowned Ringling Museum, the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Mote Marine, Jungle Gardens, and outdoor shopping and dining on St. Armands Circle. Things to know: There are three other suites available to rent at the Parrot Beach Cottages fourplex - Suite #1, Suite #2, and Suite #3 Free high-speed WiFi Smoke-free property Small kitchen (without a dishwasher) Bedroom is small with only a few feet on each side of the bed; no TV in the bedroom The suite has limited storage (one small closet) The shower features grab bars Snowbird-friendly Please note that the shared pool is small, about 15 feet by 10 feet and about four to six feet deep The overall property is very small, so there is no extra vehicle or visitor parking. There's also no nearby on-street parking. Guests love the location (truly walking distance to the beach and the village) and the more private feel of the beach, since this is a dead-end road and there is no nearby public parking There is a new home being built on the lot next door. Construction work is permitted by Sarasota County daily from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle. This rental is located on floor 2. Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. This technology is privacy compliant, and only monitors the presence of decibels and devices-not any personal conversation or information. Thank you for supporting our efforts to be good neighbors! Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). I was therefor a medical procedure so I didn’t want to be bothered by the cleaning crew so we just don’t use the pull out couch (which was broken on the arm an allegedly going to be replaced so I am wondering if that is why it wasn’t cleaned) the main bed was perfectly clean and the rest of the stay was fine. We got in on a Saturday and reported WiFi and TV access issues. One of the other four units in our building had the same problem. The property manager did not make contact until Monday. She claimed our problem was due to a storm, but we had the issue Before the storm. She did not send anyone to fix our issue until Tuesday evening. We left on Wednesday. The smoke detectors were also taken down when we arrived, so that was concerning. This was reported early in our stay but again no one sent until the night before we left. This was definitely a safety concern. All that said, the man they did finally send to fix things was super nice and efficient. My favorite beach is Siesta Key. I decided to spend my birthday weekend there with my husband but wanted to be walking distance to the beach. This place was not only that, but so cute inside. There was a salt water plunge pool with some lounge chairs and tables. Also there was a bin that had a few beach chairs, umbrellas and sand toys. Quiet area just minutes to the action! Amazing location just feet away from the beach and a short walk to the village we could not have asked for a better location. Then on the 4th night of our stay we got in late and encountered cockroach in the toilet. When we looked around the bathroom we saw several more. They were small but there we several visible. We didn’t sleep well at all but had to stay in the room. When we got u a couple hours later we saw a large cockroach just above the toilet paper holder on the side of the sink vanity. We called Vacasa right then and explained the situation and sent the representative pictures to substantiate our issues. He was helpful and told us the local property manager would be contacting us. We packed our belongings as quickly as possible and reserved a hotel room in Sarasota. Our last full day of vacation was a bust. The local agent could not be reached for several hours. When she did call around 11:30 am she told us she saw no evidence of cockroaches she told us that the picture of the large cockroach in the bathroom didn’t look like anywhere in the unit. We told her the location of the other cockroaches and she continued to tell us she could find none at all. She told us the room is rented continuously and they never experienced cockroaches prior to this. She continued to state that she could find none. We felt as if she implied we were lying. She didn’t use the word lie or liar but it felt implied. Steps from the beach. Short walk to the Village shops and restaurants. This building has four rentals, a small pool, chairs and umbrellas for the beach ( very appreciated) , a cute outside shower to wash the sand off, a parking spot, trash pick up, air conditioning, comfortable bed, cable tv, free WiFi, etc. Absolutely everything you need. It was very clean when we arrived, and smelled nice. ( That’s a big deal to me) The space is small, but we didn’t mind that for our small group. One thing to know, rental 3 & 4 that can sleep four ( with a bedroom plus a pull-out couch in the living room), but you need to be ok with several stairs to get up there. Rental 1 & 2 are ground level. The most annoying issue I had was communicating with the owner. Which I’m not sure that’s even possible, because it’s managed by Vacasa. So that’s what I used. I called several days before our stay. We wanted to know if a air mattress could be dropped off for one of our kids so the two didn’t sleep together on a fold out couch. I was told by a very honest gentleman with a strong accent, they probably won’t do that, but he’d ask. I asked for at least blankets and pillows for both kids if they did have to share the couch. I got a confusing return text the next day, saying “ hope you’re enjoying your stay, an air mattress will be dropped off later”. I replied to remind them we were not going to be there for another 8 days. Long story… We never got an air mattress, never got pillows for the two kids (guest) that were sharing the pull-out couch, only had a fitted sheet and a flat sheet for the pull- out couch. I called and texted the Vacasa management, but nothing arrive our first or second day. Finally for our last two nights, someone dropped off one very thin throw blanket and two pillow cases, but no pillows. I think if I had been able to text or call one person directly, the communication would have been so much clearer and easier. Overall, great stay, we would come back.
