I was thinking that I should leave a bad review so other people stay away. Why ?? This hotel is Sooo adorable that I really don’t want to find it full on my next visit. There is not a single thing I could possibly criticize about this place. The art and the charm of every aspect was simply outstanding. The breakfasts were so over the top. The staff could not be more helpful. It wasn’t just one thing it was all of the little things. As an example we arrived late in the day and needed to eat, one of the staff members walked us into the Medina so we would not get lost. When it came time to get a taxi for our flight they again took us and our luggage through the Medina directly to a taxi. If you stay anywhere else in Tangier you have made a mistake.

The staff at Dar Sultan are the definition of gracious hospitality. Really lovely people. And Nadia is a great cook. I didn't get everyone's names but they were all wonderful. The room was clean and fine for our short stay.

All of the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious, copius, and a great way to start the day. Every room is different and the staff left little treats each evening. Don't miss the rooftop terrace for great views of the harbor and the entire city.

The place is well furnished and decorated. My room comes with the terrace and rooftop, which offer a spectacular views of the Medina and Strait of Gibraltar. The staff are helpful.

It is a beautiful Riad, with traditional furnishings and decoration that are a feast for the eyes. A beautiful terrace with a stunning view of the city where you have breakfast each morning. The breakfast is huge and great care is taken to give different things on different days (we stayed 5 nights). For example, yogurt with fruit, freshly squeezed juice, croissants and pastries, choice of egg breakfast, local bread with jams, coffee... The hospitality is friendly and personal, always asking if they can be of help. We asked to change rooms as I preferred a different room that happened to be free and we were not only allowed to do this but help was given to move our stuff (we had unpacked!) all with graciousness. The room and bathroom adjoining, I really enjoyed - we had the room with the horse picture in pink, and the bathroom was light with a window (as did the room) and the shower with its tiling was lovely and worked very well. Every day when we came back the room was again spotless and tidied. I highly recommend Dar Sultan and would love to go back, perhaps for night or two on the way to visit Casablanca or Rabat! Many thanks for your superb hospitality, that helped make our stay so memorable!

We absolutely loved the ambience and decor in this traditional Moroccan guesthouse. Our room and terrace had beautiful views overlooking the city, and the staff was so helpful and friendly. The food for breakfast was excellent, and we loved the central location inside the Kasbah and near the Medina. We highly recommend this hotel.

Perfect location, quiet street and local to everything by foot. The room at the top was superb with a personal terrace and breakfast brought right up to enjoy with the wonderful views. Staff superb, polite, and obliging. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Dar Sultran was absolutely exceptional and managed by the most amazing and wonderful staff. Said, Nadia, El Abraham, Sanea , Amal each were beyond exceptional they took care of us just as we were family. The care that was shown to us is nothing we have ever experienced. From the moment we entered the raid we were treated as if we were the only visitors and I know for sure they treated all the guest with the same kindness and care. Thank you to this wonderful staff for treating us like royalty. This raid is beautifully equipped to provide a wonderful and lasting experience.

Best service and location

The Dar staff are amazing, the location is great and the ambiance is cosy. Good breakfasts too. Only downside is the super small showers (about 1/2m wide) but water pressure good and beds not as comfortable as they could be. We had panoramic sea view room and it was great but be warned you will walk 10 flights of steep narrow stairs to the top floor so not for anyone with health issues or bad knees!

Riad style hotel with phenomenal service.

Cute riad style hotel in the middle of the medina. Very clean and cute beds. Incredible breakfast. Ferry to Spain got delayed, we showed back at the hotel from the ferry terminal and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and help us try to get on another ferry. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Lovely building full of art and in a great location on the edge of the Kasbah. Friendly and attentive staff. Amazing breakfast. The bed was a little hard for my wife’s taste but felt fine to me. We were able to walk down to the port to take the ferry to Spain.

Dar Sultan is a beautiful place. I would especially recommend the Charf room. It's all the way at the top so there are some stairs to climb, but the view is spectacular. The breakfast is delicious. And the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. We would go back there at the drop of a hat!

Location is amazing- next to the Sulatans palace.

We had a great stay in the "charf" room at the top. The owner welcomed us with tea and local sweets, before giving us a private tour of the Kasbah. The riad is in a primo location that allows you to escape the hectic medina streets if you need a rest. The view from our room was phenomenal, but the shared terrace is a nice place to relax as well. I would recommend this riad, especially if you are coming in to Morocco for the first time.
