We had a great experience staying at Pinball Pete’s place. Very clean, cozy, comfortable, with use of the kitchen and some food provided … and, of course, pinball! Our host also went above and beyond in helping us to resolve an unexpected issue. Hoping to stay there again in the future.

The Commonwealth Hotel in Richmond is a strong pick if you want comfort, convenience, and a polished stay right in the middle of things. The rooms are genuinely comfortable—quiet, well-kept, and easy to settle into after a long day. Everything feels thoughtfully arranged, from the bedding to the lighting, and it has that “boutique” vibe without trying too hard. Amenities are another highlight. The property delivers on the basics that actually matter—reliable comfort, solid in-room features, and a generally well-maintained environment that feels clean and upscale. It’s the kind of place where you can show up, unpack, and immediately feel taken care of. Location is where it really shines. It’s extremely walkable, making it easy to get to restaurants, cafes, and downtown attractions without needing to fuss with parking or rideshares. If you like exploring a city on foot, this is an ideal home base. Service is mostly good, with one caveat: it can be slow at times, especially during busier moments. That said, staff are generally responsive once you connect with them, and they’re helpful and professional when you need something. Overall, it’s an enjoyable, comfortable stay in a prime Richmond location—and one I’d be happy to recommend, especially for anyone who values walkability and a higher-comfort hotel experience.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful and in a perfect location. The Front desk was kind and very helpful on everything level . The room was very quiet and clean — I loved the hotel. The Valet service especially Angel was extremely helpful, kind and courteous and was the best part of my stay at the Berkeley. It’s the small details that matter and valet service like Angel makes the difference in a hotel stay. The Berkeley hotel is my hotel for all my trips to Richmond and make sure to ask for Angel — he is one of the best !!!
