"A beautiful hilltop Tuscan villa which has been tastefully restored to an excellent standard . The accommodation is superb with an exceptionally well appointed kitchen . The location is well placed for exploring the beautiful area of northern Tuscany . In addition to Palaia , the closest town we explored , Lucca , San Gimignano, Lajatico and others. The hosts Roberto and Gioia were excellent, friendly and welcoming. Definitely one to visit again . "

"What a perfect place for a group holiday! Bedrooms all with their own bathrooms, an incredible pool, indoor & outdoor dining options, and stunning surroundings of the Tuscan countryside. I actually don't think photos do the place justice - tldr advice is book it!Esmeralda and team were super responsive and helpful before and during the trip.I also highly recommend getting the catering - we had a 3 course meal and pizza night and both were an absolute hit! All delicious dishes."

"This property is beautiful with stunning views and a tranquil setting. Perfectly maintained with incredible attention to detail inside and out. The interior is amazing with great decor, comfy beds and lots of special little touches. The pool is lovely and tucked away in the garden nestled in between mature shrubs, herbs and olive trees. We’ve stayed in many rental properties over the years but this one is definitely one of the very best we’ve had and top marks all round. Thanks Leonardo for your help and hospitality and for making our holiday so fantastic."

"The property sits in a very quiet area off the local roads accessed by a mile or so of gravel track. The owner Loredana, has been hosting for 25 years and has created a very comfortable apartment next door to her family home. The gardens are peaceful, packed with pomegranate, pear, apple and olive. The two dogs, the chickens and cats are friendly without invading your peace and quiet. The pool was great and just what we needed after the day trips. We arrived in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures up to 40 degrees. Despite this and with careful instruction, the old building remained cool enough without air conditioning to get a good night’s sleep. Centrally located we visited Lucca, San Gimignano, Sienna and Vinci. We shopped at the local grocery store in Corazzano and at Lidl in Castelfiorentino. We tended to eat out at lunch time and eat at the apartment at night. The only local meal we had was at Casa Lucullo about 3 miles away; excellent food and the only English family amongst many, many Italian families. We are a family of four; 50-something parents with 21,18 and 15 year old daughters. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this property for its relaxing nature and central location. Things we didn’t do that are local options are wine tasting very close at hand and cycle hire in Castelfiorentino. "

"We loved our time at this gorgeous adults-only resort! The staff were all friendly and so helpful! Every view is peaceful & the area is classic Tuscany - resort is even right above a lovely horse farm. Do be aware the parking is down a hill, but it’s a lovely walk back up to the main building. Also there are steps to some rooms so notify if need ground level. Our double room was lovely & comfortable - the shower was small but worked well - double bed was large and firm. Breakfast was tasty, with good variety over 3 mornings - the unlimited coffee was so good! No official dinner served but can order “snacks” until 7:30p - our yummy ham/cheese panini & gelato were sufficient “dinner” for an evening by the pool. We were sad to leave Sassa al Sole and would definitely stay here again!"

"VRBO advertised the stay was a villa with a private pool. The stay was OK but was actually the basement of the villa and the pool was really for the owner of the villa that we had access too. The owner was nice but had very limited English. Weather was nice and we wanted to sit outside. However, there were so many mosquitos we could not. After we went to bed, we heard dog barking and movement above us. Be careful with Google maps to location. First attempt to drive to the location lead us through vineyards. We had to backtrack and take another route to location. Fucecchio was nice as it was equal distance to Florence and Pisa. "

"I can’t recommend this place enough! When we booked it there were no reviews yet as it was brand new, but I am so glad we chose to stay here. The staff are wonderful (especial thanks to Ricardo!), it was easy to get to, and the scenery was just unbelievable. Breakfast is a classic continental selection, plus a couple of cereal options and really good cappuccino. The room was spacious, modern and well decorated, giving a very calming, classy vibe. The bed was comfy, it was very quiet and dark for sleeping, and the A/C kept the room cool. The hotel has lots of parking, and it even has an honesty bar with a wide selection of really well priced wines, all made from its own vines. I can’t wait to go back!"

"Such a beautiful place, the outdoor areas were great and really well thought out. Inside was impeccably maintained and clean. Every detail was thought out. The area is convenient for day trips so location was lovely. Luca was incredibly helpful and responsive. Super nice man! What a great stay! "

"Good place but there was some construction going on in the building which was annoying and too far from all tourist locations.since we dint have a car , we had to travel everywhere via train which is walkable from this location.food/grocery options are pretty less."

"Price was okay but the property itself was unclean, the AC for heating didnt really work and had to use the space heater, there appeared to be some sort of sauce stain on the floors that hadnt been cleaned, toliet seat was also broken. Also pillow covers wasn't provided when we arrived so we had to wait till the next day for it to be provided. Parking was fine but muddy due to rain but otherwise everything else seemed fine."

"The property was stunning. The views unbeatable, the craftsmanship of the Villa unmatched and the different areas for sitting by the pool, congregating and eating were perfect. The drive was 1 lane and very winding and even treacherous when it rained. All of the couples were extremely impressed with the Villa and talked about going back. We paid to heat the pool but it was in early October and temperatures were cool, so it never warmed up enough to enjoy it. There was a book with instructions about some things but we didn’t entirely understand what we were to do especially with the trash. Also, it would be helpful to have the washer, dryer, dishwasher and oven instructions in English. I hope we ended our stay appropriately ( we weren’t sure if we were to strip the beds etc). All in all it was a FANTASTIC stay!"
