Our lovely + bright carriage house studio apt in the heart of D.C. is perfect for the curious traveler! Designed with the traveler in mind, guests can rest easy while living like a well situated local. LESS then 5 minutes to the Shaw Metro - guests can be on the White House steps in just over 15! WALK to Convention Center!

The Space:
Enjoy our little slice of heaven; perfect for couples or those traveling on business, hoping to experience the city stress free! 

Guests are welcomed into the bright living and sleeping space, complete with a big comfy couch (doubling as a queen sized sofa bed), and Smart TV complete with streaming functions - perfect for winding down after sight seeing. With endless light & large windows; the space is ideal place to spread out, relax and enjoy after a day of walking the National Mall!

The apartment boasts modern decor, a laptop friendly workspace (doubles as a dining space), excellent wifi, and an open floor plan. HUGE TV, complete with smart streaming; perfect for all your viewing needs! 

The kitchen is small, but comes equipped with essentials; mini fridge, hot plate, and coffee maker - perfect for those hoping to whip up a small meal or breakfast in between restaurant hopping (so many restaurants to choose from just minutes on foot)!

Care for some fresh air? 
Stroll up the staircase to experience a cool, contemporary rooftop deck included for guests to enjoy their glass of vino in the evenings or your first brew of the day - a rarity in D.C.!

Please Note: The roof deck is available to be enjoyed from 7am-9pm.

With a 'walk score' of 95 this is a walkers paradise! With some of DC`s finest coffee, cuisine and culture right outside your door our spacious, private house is perfect for traveling families, groups on business, or anyone hoping to make the MOST out of their trip to DC!

Guest Access:
The carriage house is located directly behind a rowhome. There is a gate to the right of the rowhome which leads you to the rear of the house, where the carriage house is located. The front patio area is not included for guest use, but the exclusive rooftop deck is begging to be enjoyed!

The Neighborhood:
The location is the epicenter of DC’s music and dining scene, always the place to be seen in D.C! 
Walk around the corner and catch a wide range of music shows at the historic Howard Theater, or a few more blocks to the famous “9:30 Club”. A short distance in either direction takes you to the Right Proper Brew Pub, the Shaw Tavern, Bistro Boehm, Shaw Library and a bucketful of coffee houses, fitness centers and “pop-up” eating and entertainment venues. A few more blocks brings you the U Street Corridor and 14th St, just minutes away on foot from all the fabulous restaurants bars and shopping that this hip neighborhood has to offer. Grocery stores, pharmacy and every other essential are just a few minutes’ walk from the home.

Getting Around:
We are a 3 minute stroll on foot from the Shaw/Howard Metro Stop and about 10 minutes from the U Street/African American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Station.  
Nearby buses, Capital Bikeshare’s, and Uber’s surround the area - 95% Walk Score! 
Shaw, centered around U Street NW, has been the hub for African-American social, cultural, and economic progress in the nation`s capital! U St is famous for it’s lively music scene and its smorgasbord of dining options. Foodies will have no shortage of choices; from Ben’s Chili Bowl to homemade ice cream at the Ice Cream Jubilee, there’s a little something for everyone. 
The neighborhood is very safe - experience the nightlife of U St, and leisurely stroll back to your apartment for some welcome respite.  

Prefer something more active? Most central Washington DC features are all within walking. Several Capital Bikeshares are located short strolls away; they offer bike rentals by the hour at excellent rates - a truly awesome way to explore the city, the Potomac Tow Path, the Anacostia Waterfront, and nearby Virginia and Maryland!  . 

- Walter E. Washington Convention center is a 15 minute walk, or just 1 stop on the metro.  
- Regan airport is 20 minutes away on the yellow line.  
- The National Mall/Smithsonian is a mile walk or 5 minutes on the metro.

Other Things to Note:
There is an interconnecting door between the carriage house and the tenant's private garage (which is not included with the reservation). Guests shouldn`t hear much coming and going, but please be aware that door is only used as an emergency exit.
