Leave your car at the Hotel and save some money by not having to pay an entry or parking fee. The Hotel is only a 3 minute walk away from the entrance.

Visiting during the off season was perfect because there were no crowds. I recommend entering at the main entrance and walking up the gorge. Return to the main parking lot using the north or south trail. This would be a dangerous place for little ones who are overly curious.

SO CROWDED! Don't go on a weekend if you're not into crowds. I went because so many people told me it was amazing. I thought it'd be a peaceful, relaxing, meandering hike. I mean, who doesn't love waterfalls? But, I have some pretty spectacular ones nearer to my home that are also MUCH less crowded and much more peaceful. There's no indication that parking is $8 - someone puts a ticket on your window, instructing you to go to the welcome center to pay - back to the welcome center that I already walked past. Of course, I didn't. I was spent from all the stairs and the last thing wanted to do was walk anywhere. I won't return.

A nice place to visit but wear dark sneakers, they will get wet and muddy. A lot of hiking but we had a great day!
