This 2022 NFL Season will feature 14 games over the course of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The schedule is packed with marquee matchups, giving NFL fans an extra gift this holiday season. The NFL Christmas Eve schedule has 11 games on the slate. While you’re wrapping those last-minute gifts, and baking cookies for Santa, here’s a breakdown of what to watch.
Cincinnati Bengals vs New England Patriots
Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Co. are scheduled for a late-season test, as they head into Gillette Stadium to face the New England Patriots. There is little doubt head coach Bill Belichick won't have his team ready for what promises to be a great Christmas Eve NFL showdown.
New Orleans Saints vs Cleveland Browns
Jameis Winston and the Saints will have their work cutout for them when they travel to FirstEnergy Stadium for this Christmas Eve NFL matchup. The New Orleans Saints have one of the top defenses in the league, and Browns quarterback DeShaun Watson will look to prove otherwise. New Orleans will have their hands full with Cleveland wideout Amari Cooper and running back Nick Chubb both looking to find the endzone.
New York Giants vs Minnesota Vikings
This one has all the makings for a Christmas Eve classic. Giants QB Daniel Jones and Big Blue head to Minnesota to face off against Kirk Cousins and the Vikings high-powered offense. New York will have their work cut out for them if they want to stop the Vikings’ two-headed monster in receiver Adam Thielen and running back Dalvin Cook. That’s not to be said Minnesota will have an easy time stopping NYG running back Saquon Barkley who is looking to have a bounce back season.
Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys
What would an NFL Christmas Day be without two NFC East rivals battling it out? Jalen Hurts and his Philly teammates travel to AT&T Stadium to face off against QB Dak Prescott and the ‘boys in the Lone Star State. Dallas will look to utilize their top-ranked offense early and stymie any chance the Eagles have at escaping with a W and starting their Christmas celebrations early.
Green Bay Packers vs Miami Dolphins
Packers fans get an extra gift this year in the form of a Christmas Day matchup against a underwhelming Dolphins team. Miami is hoping to finally see some solid performance from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, whom they’ve paired with recently acquired wideout Tyreek Hill. While Miami’s defense is far from a pushover, look for Aaron Rodgers and the Pack to play the part of the Grinch, and steal Christmas from the ‘Fins.
Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Rams
It’s not by accident the league scheduled this matchup between two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Matthew Stafford. The Rams, fresh off winning Super Bowl LVI, are ranked towards the top on both sides of the ball. Their defense, anchored by Aaron Donald, as well as their offense will matchup well against the Broncos, whose roster is also loaded top to bottom. NFL fans are in store for a treat with this one!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Arizona Cardinals
What better way to celebrate the holiday season, than a serving of “Tom Terrific” and the Bucs. Although some of their star-power on offense is gone, Brady still looks to lead the Bucs deep into the postseason, and this matchup against the Cardinals should be a good one. Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray, although young, has shown significant signs of improvement, and is a poised leader. This primetime NFL Christmas Day game will be a treat!
