The Expedia+ program ("Program") is offered to Expedia.com customers at the sole discretion of Expedia, Inc., and is open only to individuals who are eighteen (18) years of age and older, have a valid email address, and have enrolled in the Program ("Member(s)"). By participating in the Program, Members can earn Expedia+ points ("Expedia+ points" or "Points") for booking and completing eligible travel through Expedia and redeem available Points for certain travel rewards, subject to these Terms and Conditions and the availability of eligible travel and reward items. In order to earn Expedia+ points, eligible travel must be completed. This means that you, or other travelers booked on an itinerary using your Expedia+ account ("Account"), must stay in the hotel you booked, fly the booked flight itinerary, use the rental car you reserved individually or as a part of your vacation package, or use the tickets for the event/activity for which you booked and paid. The terms "you" and "your" throughout these Terms and Conditions refer to any Member and any customer eligible to participate in the Program.
Membership in Expedia+ is void if prohibited by law in the state or country of the Member's residence, and subject to change as may be necessary to comply with such laws or regulations.
Expedia is committed to customer satisfaction, so if you have a problem or dispute, we will try to resolve your concerns. But if we are unsuccessful, you may pursue claims as explained in this section.
Arbitrations will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its rules, including the AAA Consumer Rules. The AAA's rules are available at www.adr.org or by calling 1-800-778-7879. Payment of all filing, administration and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA's rules, except as provided in this section. If your total Claims seek less than $10,000, we will reimburse you for filing fees you pay to the AAA and will pay arbitrator’s fees, unless the arbitrator determines your Claims are frivolous. You may choose to have an arbitration conducted by telephone, based on written submissions, or in person in the state where you live or at another mutually agreed location.
To begin an arbitration proceeding, you must send a letter requesting arbitration and describing your Claims to “Expedia Legal: Arbitration Claim Manager,” at Expedia, Inc., 333 108th Ave N.E. Bellevue, WA 98004. If we request arbitration against you, we will give you notice at the email address or street address you have provided. A party requesting arbitration must also provide a copy of the request to the AAA, at Case Filing Services, 1101 Laurel Oak Road, Suite 100, Voorhees, NJ 08043 or online at www.adr.org or at any AAA office.
Any and all proceedings to resolve Claims will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated or representative action. If for any reason a Claim proceeds in court rather than in arbitration we each waive any right to a jury trial. The Federal Arbitration Act and federal arbitration law apply to this agreement. An arbitration decision may be confirmed by any court with competent jurisdiction.
Expedia may at its sole discretion modify any of the Terms and Conditions governing the Program—including, but not limited to, the rules for earning and redeeming Expedia+ points, the expiration policy for Points and the products and services on which Points may be earned and redeemed—at any time, with or without notice, even though these changes may affect your ability to use any Points or benefits you have already earned. Expedia reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any Expedia+ Member it finds to be tampering with the operation of the Program or to be acting in violation of these Terms & Conditions or in a fraudulent or deceptive manner. Any attempt by any Expedia+ Member to undermine the legitimate operation of the Program may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Expedia reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by Expedia to enforce any of these Terms & Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Expedia makes no guarantees, warranties, or representations of any kind concerning the Program.
You release Expedia and its affiliates and partners from all liability regarding the earning, redemption, and use of Expedia+ points, including any rewards that, after receipt, may be lost, stolen, or destroyed. Expedia suppliers are in no way affiliated with or responsible for Expedia+ Program administration.
The Program has no predetermined termination date and may continue until such time as Expedia decides to terminate the Program. Expedia may terminate the Program at any time. Upon termination, you will have ninety (90) days from the date Program termination is announced to use available Expedia+ points remaining in your account. After that date, any Points will be forfeited without compensation.
Your continued participation in the Program constitutes your acceptance of any changes to these Terms and Conditions. You are responsible for remaining knowledgeable as to any changes that Expedia may make to these Terms and Conditions. The most current version of these Terms and Conditions will be available on the website at www.expedia.com/rewards and will supersede all previous versions of these Terms and Conditions.
You must have an account on Expedia.com in order to enroll in Expedia+. To earn Expedia+ points for a booking on Expedia, you must be an enrolled Member of Expedia+ prior to making a booking Account and be signed in to your Account prior to booking. No Points will be earned for bookings made on Expedia.com when you are not signed in to your Account. If you enroll in Expedia+ after booking but before travel is completed, Points will not accrue on that booking.
As an enrolled Member of the Program, you will receive regular account servicing updates by email. Members may opt out of participation in the Program from the Rewards Activity page on Expedia.com. Your ability to earn and redeem Expedia+ points will be suspended after you opt out. If you opt out of Program participation, you will no longer have access to your account statement information, no Expedia+ points will accumulate on future bookings, and any accumulated Expedia+ points will be unavailable for redemption. Any Points in your Account at the time of opting out will expire fourteen (14) days from your opt-out date.
Expedia awards Points only to the owner of the Account through which any eligible booking is made. You will also earn points for any additional individuals named as travelers on an itinerary booked using your Account.
After making an eligible booking, the anticipated amount of Expedia+ points to be awarded will be held in pending status. As mentioned above, "completed travel" means that you, or other travelers booked under your Account, must have completed the stay in the hotel booked, flown on the booked flight itinerary, used the rental car you reserved individually or as a part of your vacation package, or used the ticket(s) for the event/activity for which you booked and paid. Pending Expedia+ points are not available for redemption usage. Points will move from pending to available status after completion of travel, based on the time periods identified in the Posting/Reconciliation chart below. Once in available status, Expedia+ points are eligible to be used by the Member for redemption purposes. The amount of pending Expedia+ points calculated at the time of booking is based on the details of the itinerary booked and completed. Changes or cancellations to the booked itinerary may result in differences between the estimated amount of pending points calculated and the ultimate amount of points that post to the Member's Account for that itinerary. No Expedia+ points will be earned for change or cancellation fees imposed by suppliers.
Expedia reserves the right to rescind at any time any pending or available Expedia+ points that were earned or awarded for unused travel items. Expedia+ points will be rescinded in cases where a Member receives a refund, from either Expedia or a travel supplier or vendor. Points earned pursuant to fraudulent, sham or falsified information will be rescinded by Expedia.
Expedia has the right to monitor all Member Account activity. If your Expedia+ Account shows signs of fraud, abuse, or suspicious activity, Expedia may close or freeze your Account immediately, and you may lose your accrued Expedia+ points. If you have conducted any fraudulent activity, Expedia reserves the right to take any necessary legal action and may have grounds to confiscate any rewards redeemed as a result of such activity. In addition, you may be liable for monetary losses to Expedia, including litigation costs and damages, and you will not be allowed to participate in Expedia+ in the future. Bookings discovered to be fraudulent will have their Expedia+ points rescinded, and the Account associated with such fraudulent bookings will be frozen from further Rewards Point earning or redemption activity. To contest freezing of an account or the rescinding of Expedia+ points, please call 1-800-EXPEDIA (1-800-397-3342).
If your Account does not represent the correct number of Expedia+ points that you should have been awarded as determined by Expedia, Expedia reserves the right to augment or decrement your Point balance. If you believe your Account has been the subject of any suspicious activity, please contact the Expedia Service Center immediately. If it is determined you have been the victim of a fraud, the Points you have earned may be transferred to a new Account.
Rewards Point accumulation and redemption activity can be accessed on your Rewards Activity page. Expedia+ points and rewards have no cash value and may not be traded or redeemed for cash. Expedia+ points may not be assigned, sold, transferred, and/or pledged to any third party. You have no property rights or other legal interests in Expedia+ points. You are responsible for any personal tax liability that may be related to participation in Expedia+ and redemption of any rewards.
If a Member believes he or she did not receive the correct amount of Expedia+ points for a booking, the Member must contact Expedia Customer Service at 1-800-EXPEDIA (1-800-397-3342) within ninety (90) days from the travel end date. Expedia will make the final determination as to whether Points adjustments of any kind are justified for the travel in question. In no event will any Expedia+ points manually be moved from pending to available status sooner than after completion of travel and within the time period identified in the Points Posting/Reconciliation chart below.

Points earned for car rentals will not appear as pending on your Expedia+ Activity Page; they will post to your account based on the time periods identified in the Posting/Reconciliation chart below, and will appear as bonus points on your statement.
As noted above, the anticipated amount of Expedia+ points to be awarded are held in pending status until travel is completed and payment has been confirmed. See chart below for length of time it may take for points to move from pending to available status.

Bonus Point Offers
From time to time, Expedia may offer opportunities to earn additional bonus Expedia+ points. All applicable terms and conditions associated with the specific bonus offer must be met in order to earn bonus Expedia+ points for your booked and completed travel. Bonus Expedia+ points will be posted to your Account as pending at time of booking, and will move to available status after the travel end date based on the time periods identified in the Posting/Reconciliation chart below, unless otherwise specified in the promotion-specific terms and conditions. Bonus Expedia+ points offers apply to changed bookings as long as the changed booking still meets all requirements and conditions of the offer. Bonus point offers do not apply to cancelled bookings. Offers are limited to the offer recipient and are not transferable. Bonus point offers are not redeemable for cash. Void where prohibited by law.
Expedia+ points will not expire as long as there is a qualifying purchase or redemption activity through Expedia.com on your Account at least once every eighteen (18) months. "Qualifying purchase or redemption activity" means a Expedia+ eligible trip or travel item which has been both booked and completed and points have been confirmed, or redemption of a travel reward through your Account. All points in your Account will expire if there is no qualifying purchase or redemption activity for a period of eighteen (18) months. Once expired, Expedia+ points will not be reinstated.
Expedia+ points can be redeemed for airline tickets, bookings at Expedia Rate hotels, and package coupons. Points cannot be redeemed for cash and have no cash value... Pending Expedia+ points cannot be used toward reward redemption.
Flight reward reservations must be made via phone. Please note, representatives are English-speaking. All rewards are subject to availability and restrictions of the relevant travel supplier. Expedia, Inc. has the final authority on all decisions regarding reward ticketing, pricing, and availability and the interpretation of these Expedia+ Terms and Conditions. The point cost of Expedia+ flight rewards are based on variable amounts. These amounts are based on a combination of factors including itinerary, date and time of travel, and dollar value of travel. The Account holder must have enough Expedia+ points available to cover the entire cost of the flight being booked to redeem. The following policies and terms apply to flight rewards:
- Blackout dates do not apply toward flight reward travel bookings made on Expedia.com using Expedia+ points.
- Taxes, fees, and surcharges for the booking are included in the number of Expedia+ points required for redemption and are subject to change without notice.
- Flights may be nonstop, direct, or involve a change of planes. They may also be one-way flights.
- Flights do not have to be exact roundtrips. Flights into and out of different airports are permitted.
- Airline participation may vary from market to market.
- Holds cannot be placed on Expedia flight reward reservations.
- Points cannot be redeemed for same-day flights.
For information regarding airline liability limitations, baggage liability, and other regulations of the Warsaw Convention and other regulations, please consult your air carrier.
Only the Expedia+ Member can redeem Expedia+ points, but the reward flight may be booked either in the name of the Member or in the name of any other person the Member designates. Once tickets are issued, flight rewards are not transferable and may be used only by the individual named on the ticket.
Redeemed Expedia+ points will be deducted from your Account at the time of booking. No Rewards Point amounts, reward availability, or dates of travel are confirmed until the required number of Expedia+ points has been deducted from the Member's Account and the tickets or travel documents have been issued.
All airline tickets booked in exchange for Expedia+ points are nonrefundable, non-endorsable, and nontransferable, and cannot be changed for any reason. Travelers' names cannot be changed after booking. There are no cancellations of any flight reward reservation once it has been booked.
Airline schedules, terms, points of service, and fares are subject to change without notice. Airline schedule changes, flight cancellations, interruptions, and oversold flights are outside of the control of Expedia. These situations must be remedied by the applicable travel supplier and may be subject to Federal or State Regulations. If an airline declares bankruptcy, it is not obligated to carry you or to refund tickets issued before the bankruptcy. Expedia is prohibited from refunding tickets on airlines that have declared bankruptcy. Expedia+ points redeemed or money given to Expedia immediately becomes the property of the airline and Expedia is required by law to comply with the airline's orders.
Airline tickets will be issued as e-tickets unless paper tickets are required by the airline. For bookings made via phone at (800) 997-9158, electronic confirmation and documentation will be sent to the e-mail address displayed on the Billing and Delivery within 12 hours of booking. The Member is responsible for destroyed, lost, and/or stolen rewards, and any fees imposed to replace such travel documents.
Vacation Package Redemptions
Account holders can redeem available Expedia+ points for Expedia coupons in various increments ("Reward coupon") that can be applied to the cost of a Flight + Hotel vacation package that includes an Expedia Rate hotel. When you redeem Expedia+ points for a Reward coupon in your selected amount, you will be issued a Reward coupon code. The issued Reward coupon will be deposited into the Member's Expedia Account, and can be found on the coupons page within "My Account." Once the Reward coupon code is issued, the Reward coupon may be redeemed by the Member. Any terms or conditions applicable to each Rewards coupon will be confirmed at the time of issuance. Redeemed Expedia+ points will be deducted from your Account at the time the Reward coupon code is issued. No Rewards Point amounts or reward availability is confirmed until the required number of Expedia+ points has been deducted from the Member's Account and the Reward coupon is issued.
Reward coupons can only be redeemed for Flight + Hotel vacation packages that include a booking at an Expedia Rate hotel on Expedia.com and a flight booked on Expedia.com, and only where payment is being made to Expedia at time of booking. Reward coupons will be applied first to the hotel portion of the vacation package, then to the flight portion of your package, less any taxes, fees or charges due on the vacation package. Please Note: Any amount of the coupon applied to the flight portion of the package will be refunded to your credit card after your purchase is confirmed, usually within 10 business days. A Reward coupon can only be applied to one (1) vacation package and one hotel room per booking. A Reward coupon cannot be used for booking multiple rooms on the same itinerary. Reward coupons have no cash value. Reward coupons may not be combined with or applied to any other certificates, upgrades, awards, or coupons. All taxes, fees, charges, and surcharges applicable to the booking, including, without limitation, baggage fees, seat upgrades, extra person, parking, phone, and other charges that are applicable to the reservation are the responsibility of the traveler, and Reward coupons cannot be applied to such amounts. Reward coupons cannot be applied to the cost of cancellation or change penalties, prepaid reservations, administrative fees, or other miscellaneous charges. Coupon has no cash value. Void where prohibited by law.
No Expedia+ Point refunds will be issued for unused or expired Rewards coupons.
Hotel Price Guarantee
The Hotel Price Guarantee is available to Expedia+ members in good standing. In the unlikely event that you find a lower rate for a hotel you have booked on www.expedia.com or through the Expedia call center at 1-800-EXPEDIA, whether on Expedia or on another U.S.-based website, we will honor the lower price. Hotels booked as part of a package are not eligible for the Hotel Price Guarantee. The guarantee is subject to these terms and conditions.
Notifying Expedia of a Claim:
You may make a claim under the Hotel Price Guarantee from the time you book your standalone hotel on Expedia until 11:59 p.m. local time at the hotel's location, the day prior to hotel check-in. To make a claim, please complete this form, select your qualifying itinerary, and provide details on the lower price found, including screen shots. The lower price must be available for booking at the time you contact us, as determined by Expedia+.
Must be "Apples to Apples" Comparison:
The Hotel Price Guarantee is available only for exact itinerary matches, including property, room type, rate plan, applicable refund policy, and the exact same dates of travel as booked through Expedia. The comparison must be to the same product purchased standalone through another website (i.e., not part of a hotel + air travel package).
The Hotel Price Guarantee applies only to the cost of booked travel, as presented in the Expedia search results, without including any taxes and fees. The Hotel Price Guarantee is not available for bookings on websites where the property, itinerary, or similar booking details are unknown until after purchase. You must meet all requirements imposed on the lower price (if any), including, without limitation, residency, regional, and age-related requirements.
There is no limit on the number of Hotel Price Guarantee claims you may make per booking. However, any credit subsequent to the initial credit will be based on the amount of the previously credited price, not on the amount of the original price that you booked.
Comparison Rates Must Be Available to the General Public Online:
The Hotel Price Guarantee applies only to prices both advertised and available to the general public on a U.S.-based website. For example, this does not include rates offered on membership program websites; corporate discounts or rates; group, charter, rewards program, incentive, meeting, convention, consolidator, or interline prices; prices obtained via auction or similar process; or prices available only by using a coupon or other promotion not offered to the general public. The lower rate may not come from a website where you call to get the rate or from an e-mail that you received. The rate must be quoted and booked in U.S. dollars (and without reference to currency converters).
Verification of Claims:
All requests are subject to verification by Expedia. Expedia will not accept screenshots or other purported evidence of a lower price that cannot be independently confirmed by Expedia personnel. Nor will Expedia verify any request that it believes, in its sole discretion, is the result of a printing or other error or is made fraudulently or in bad faith. For verification of non-prepaid hotel bookings, the customer service representative will instruct you to mail a copy of your hotel receipt to Expedia within thirty (30) days after you have completed the hotel stay. Expedia will honor the lower price for verified requests. This may happen in one of several ways.
In some cases, it will take the form of a credit to the credit card used for booking. In other cases, it may be necessary for the travel specialist to cancel your booking and re-book your stay at the lower price. You will not be charged any change or cancellation fees in connection with the Hotel Price Guarantee. In all cases, the travel specialist will explain the process to you. Travel must be completed in accordance with the booked itinerary to be eligible to receive the coupon, refund or credit. Changed or cancelled bookings are not eligible to receive the coupon, or refund. Expedia reserves the right to render any coupon void that Expedia issues in excess of these limits, issued in error, or where the customer is found to be ineligible to receive a coupon.
Expedia reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify or discontinue the Hotel Price Guarantee or to restrict its availability to any person, at any time, for any or no reason, and without prior notice or liability to you. The terms that are in effect at the time of your claim will determine your eligibility under the Hotel Price Guarantee. The failure by Expedia to enforce any provision of these terms and conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
Elite Status Qualification
Elite status is an exclusive privilege of Expedia+ membership. All members enter the program with +blue status and must meet the stated elite qualification criteria. All Expedia+ terms and conditions apply to elite status. Only bookings made in your enrolled Expedia+ Account qualify toward elite status which includes Expedia+ silver status and Expedia+ gold status. Certain program offers and status benefits may not be available to members who are not U.S. residents. Members of Expedia's Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) do not qualify for Elite status.
Expedia reserves the right in its sole discretion to discontinue or modify the Expedia elite status program (the "Elite Status Program") and/or these Terms & Conditions, or to restrict the program's availability to any person, at any time, for any or no reason, and without prior notice or liability to you.
In case of fraud or abuse involving the Elite Status Program, the Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to take appropriate administrative and/or legal action, including but not limited to termination of Rewards Program Membership.
Members can qualify for Elite status by:
- Staying the specified number of hotel nights valued at US $50 per night or more, or;
- Meeting a qualifying spend threshold on Expedia.com. The following criteria must be met between January 1 and December 31 of any given year:
+silver 7 hotel room nights or $5,000 in eligible Expedia.com spend +gold 15 hotel room nights or $10,000 in eligible Expedia.com spend
Qualifying travel or activity must be completed by 11:59pm Pacific time on December 31 of the qualifying year to count toward Elite status. Travel that begins in one calendar year and ends the next will count toward elite status for the later calendar year.
Eligible Expedia.com spend for the purposes of qualifying for elite status includes hotels, flights, car rentals, vacation packages, and activities. Elite status may be revoked at any time in Expedia's sole discretion if the travel which earned the status is not completed travel.
Once earned, elite status is valid for the remainder of the calendar year in which you qualified, the next full calendar year, and through February 28 of the following year, unless otherwise specified.
Expedia+ silver Benefits
- Expedia+ Bonus Points: Expedia+ silver members earn a 10% bonus on all base points earned. Bonus Expedia+ points will be posted to your Account as pending at time of booking, and will move to available status after completion of the travel, based on the time periods identified in the Posting/Reconciliation chart below.
+VIP Access Bonus Points: +silver members receive 250 bonus points for eligible hotel or hotel package stays at hotels bearing the +VIP Access icon. Bonus Expedia+ points will be posted to your Account as pending at time of booking, and will move to available status after completion of the travel based on the time periods identified in the Posting/Reconciliation chart below.
Hotels participating in the +VIP Access hotel network are subject to change at any time without notice.
- Exclusive hotel amenities: +silver members receive exclusive amenities on property at participating +VIP Access hotels. Amenities vary by property. Hotels participating in the +VIP Access hotel network that offer exclusive amenities are subject to change at any time without notice. The amenities offered by a given hotel are subject to change. Exclusive amenities are intended for the primary account holder and will only be extended to additional travelers booked in the +silver member's account at the hotel's discretion and availability.
- Priority customer service: +silver members receive priority call routing and expedited service when contacting Expedia customer care.
- Exclusive +silver offers: Periodic special offers will be made available exclusively to +silver members.
- Exclusive benefits from a dedicated concierge service in Hawaii and Orlando via Expedia Local Expert®
Expedia+ gold Benefits
- Expedia+ Bonus Points: Expedia+ gold members earn a 30% bonus on all base points earned. Bonus Expedia+ points will be posted to your Account as pending at time of booking, and will move to available status after completion of the travel, based on the time periods identified in the Posting/Reconciliation chart below.

Expedia+ Credit Card by Citi
Expedia partners with Citibank and MasterCard, to offer Expedia customers the opportunity to apply for an Expedia branded credit card with Rewards benefits. In order to apply for the card, you must be an Expedia+ member in good standing, at least eighteen (18) years of age and a US resident. There are two choices of credit cards available for application: the Expedia+ no fee card and the Expedia+ Voyager card.
Applicants approved by Citibank for the Expedia+ no fee card are granted Expedia +silver status and all the benefits outlined above for +silver members. Active Expedia+ no fee card members will retain +silver status and the Benefits listed above for as long as they are enrolled in Expedia+ and their credit card accounts are in good standing. If for any reason Citibank closes your credit card account, Expedia reserves the right to remove Member's status.
Applicants approved by Citibank for the Expedia+ Voyager card are granted Expedia +gold status and all the Benefits listed above for as long as they are enrolled in Expedia+ and their credit card accounts are in good standing.
