Los Angeles

I am lucky to call Los Angeles my home for the past four years. One thing that attracted me to this place was the food and the fun activities. There is so much to explore! You can go from the water to the mountains all in one day. Let’s not forget the food! Los Angeles is a diverse place, with so many different types of cuisines to try. Definitely make time in your itinerary to try some local spots!

When it comes to your stay, being in a comfortable and great location truly makes a trip! I chose Santa Monica Proper Hotel as a part of my itinerary because the location is walking distance to the beach. You can enjoy a nice morning walk by the water, followed by a scenic breakfast at the hotel overlooking the ocean. The decor of this hotel is also very unique and thoughtfully curated. I feel refreshed and inspired just being there!

Inside the hotel are a few different restaurants to choose from. If you want more options, don’t worry, because you’re surrounded by so many! There’s truly something for everyone and every budget. If you’re traveling with someone, I recommend having small meals and sharing, so you can try out more places!

After you’re fueled with breakfast, I recommend taking a bike ride through Santa Monica and Venice. Biking is a great way to explore and you can take it at your own pace. There are lots of cafes and cute restaurants along the way, so keep an eye out for those if you’re hungry! I recommend trying the smoothie shops or acai bowls. Some smoothie shops may be pricier than others, so check online for the menu to compare. Generally speaking, I’ve always had a good experience with very fresh and quality ingredients from local shops. Certain areas are marked with bike lanes, so stay on the trail or bike lane. It can get crowded depending on the time of day and season, so keep an eye out for others crossing.

If you’re feeling adventurous (and don’t get motion sick easily), definitely check out the helicopter tour. Seeing the coastline from the top view is so much fun. Make sure to bring your camera!

Tulum

Tulum is on my bucket list of places to visit! I have actually never visited Tulum myself, but have only heard wonderful things from my friends. I created this itinerary with things I would like to do in mind. I love exploring on foot when traveling, so in my itinerary you will find lots of fun tours! For those who like to seek a little thrill on a trip, ziplining is a must! There’s no other feeling like gliding through the air while taking in the beautiful lush landscape. If you love the outdoors, this itinerary is for you!

What I love about Hotel Bardo is the indoor to outdoor experience. The rooms offer a large glass door that opens out to a pool or lush landscape. When I’m traveling, I look for hotels with patios or lots of green spaces. I look forward to laying out and listening to the sound of the wind and birds. Take a walk around the terrace and take it all in!

I love exploring on foot when traveling, so I decided on a day trip to Tulum and Cenote! The group tour is $35 per adult, which includes visiting a few different locations. You can take a swim at the Cenote Chaak Tun, and the Tulum White Sand Beach. During the trip, you can also learn more about Tulum’s history and ancient Maya traditions. Seems like a very memorable experience!
