Small room, room amenities lacking, staff polite but not accommodating

Beautiful hotel with amazing outdoor and indoor pool and spa. Rooms are beautifully decorated and staff is very kind and helpful. Location is right in the city but it’s a quiet town so you sleep well. Beds are very comfortable. Very clean throughout hotel and grounds. Only one comment to improve is to the hairdryer, not user friendly as you have to push down a bottom to keep it running and it is awkward. Free parking just a couple minute walk. Definitely recommend this hotel for relaxing or as a base to explore other nearby towns. Thank you for the welcome and departure gifts, very much appreciated.

The least I expect from any hotel is to be able to control the room temperature. I followed the instructions on the thermostat as I wanted the room to be more comfortable and not so cold. I then went to bed expecting it to work, it did nothing to increase the temperature and I was cold most of the night. I did not call reception as I did not want someone coming to the room at that time. Next day I was told the hotel heating was OFF and offered a fan heater. This is not acceptable let alone from a supposedly 5 - star hotel. I asked for a room rate reduction and got NOTHING. Needless to say I will not be returning. Other bad points - 35 Euro breakfast must be the most expensive ever (I did NOT try it) - so for two that's 70 Euros. I had a good 2 course evening meal for about the same price (NOT in the hotel of course). The Jacuzzi was only just warm enough and so not really as expected. The staff were helpful in other respects but they need to get the basics rights. Location is good although if using Uber you have to walk the last part with your luggage.

I loved this boutique hotel. The staff were present 24 hr per day and were very helpful. They made excellent restaurant recommendations - one is right across the street. The location is ideal - both near the train station and major sights of Strasbourg.
