Airport (EWR) to Sharm El Sheikh (SSH) 9.2/10 Wonderful! (1,002 reviews) The Stella di Mare is a fabulous hotel and our stay here was perfect. The service given by all members of staff was impeccable, the room was lovely with a panoramic sea view and a comfortable bed, and the food was varied and delicious, including the option of a wonderful outdoor grill in the evenings. Best of all for me, the house reef was incredible with all kinds of colourful fish seen close-up during snorkelling. (We’d planned on doing a boat-based snorkelling trip but decided there was no need as the house reef was so good!). The grounds were beautifully maintained and the pools were lovely, and nicely heated as it was winter (the top pool with swim-up-bar was almost hot!). There were always sun loungers available and a chilled vibe prevailed throughout, making it a really relaxing holiday. We took the free shuttle into Sharm for a more lively evening and shopping one night. I honestly cannot fault this hotel - a truly 5 star experience in every way. Airport (EWR) to Sharm El Sheikh (SSH) 7/10 Good! (82 reviews) We stayed at Pyramisa for a week. We had two children along with our 80 year old grandmother. Upon arrival we were placed in a room at the end of the hotel near the beach. However, there were no lifts and 1000’s of stairs. It took us 15 minutes to get to reception/pool area. We had to change rooms which took hours and hours. Even then, the rooms were not so close to the reception. They also had to downgrade the room to get us closer to reception and would not refund us the difference between the family room we booked and the standard room we ended up staying in. The pool area is lovely and the beach as well. However the hotel is just very inconvenient with the lift situation. Toilets by the pool are absolutely filthy and the odour is awful. The food was ok, but was always cold. Salad bar is nice and drinks are too: Staff were also ok, quick to tend to your needs. Overall, I wouldn’t visit again. It definitely isn’t a 5 star but was ok.
