Central Golf Vacations

This place is the definition of charm! We felt like we were in an old movie based in the 1700 / 1800s. The staff were very cool and accommodating as well! We walked to and from the Inn to the nearby Pippin Hill Winery next door a couple times which was convenient, and a very pretty walk ( about 15 minutes or so to the winery building ) the breakfast in the morning was so good, especially one morning when Gracie and the team made fresh French toast with homemade whip cream, thick cut bacon, eggs made to order, fresh fruit, and the coffee was superb. The surrounding beauty of the property, the gardens, and the inn itself were so charming and stunning. Go see and feed the chickens too! Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

The Oakhurst Inn is a beautiful, immaculate hotel right in the heart of Charlottesville. The Inn is comprised of a few different buildings, each with a handful of different units. We were greeted warmly at the front desk and told we had been upgraded to a larger, more centrally located room. Our room was very spacious, with a giant bathroom and trendy but cute decor. We did not have time to visit the outdoor pool, but were told it was open 24 hours! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Charlottesville. Very reasonable pricing considering the high quality experience!

Our stay at Massanutten was a mixed experience. Our condo itself was perfect for our family…comfortable, spacious, clean, and a great home base for our trip. We also really enjoyed some of the activities, particularly the zip line and tubing, which were fun experiences for the kids and definite highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, other parts of the resort experience were disappointing. From the beginning, the resort felt overcrowded, understaffed, and difficult to navigate. Our room was not ready until well after the stated check-in time, there were no towels available at the pool, and customer service throughout the stay was inconsistent. The waterpark was particularly frustrating. The food we purchased was cold and poor quality, service was lacking, and by the afternoon there were extremely long waits with very limited slide availability. For what a family pays for admission, we expected a much better experience. The following morning, we arrived early for our pre-booked Alpine Coaster time only to discover it was closed, with no advance communication. We then spent a significant amount of time waiting in crowds without clear information or enough staff available to help us figure out what to do next. There were absolutely positives…we loved our condo, enjoyed the zip line and tubing, and the surrounding Shenandoah area is beautiful. However, the overall resort experience felt far more stressful than it should have for a family vacation.

The gentleman at the front desk who helped me out, (C Note) you know who you are, was fantastic! All the young men who worked the front bell stand are absolutely fantastic as well! Everybody there was just absolutely fantastic and phenomenal!
