County Dublin Golf Vacations

We were unable to complete our stay as planned and had to move to another hotel. We had booked a family room for 4 people - there was no air conditioning in the part of the building our room was located and the room was extremely hot with a small window and a fan circulating warm air. We asked to be moved and were advised that air conditioning is only available in executive rooms which are for 2 people and if we wanted to move there would be a cost of £250 for an additional room. Having already paid over the odds for a family room in the hotel we were not prepared to pay more. The hotel offered a bucket of ice (not sure what that was meant to achieve) and a second fan but this made no difference and just circulated more warm air. The hotel did finally agree to refund our stay even though the cancellation period has passed and we moved to a hotel a short drive away. We found the attitude of the hotel quite disappointing - they clearly know the lack of air conditioning is a problem as there are signs in reception offering fans, bottles of water and ice and advice to guests to keep curtains closed. They suggested the heat wave had caused the problem with room temperature but that ended weeks ago and it was 18 degrees the day we arrived so hardly a heat wave. This hotel has good potential but needs investment in air conditioning for family rooms as a minimum.

The young girl who welcomed us upon check in was so friendly and helpful! Posive experience in the bar. But the bathroom in our room was fair. Outdated. Climbing over the tub to get a shower was challenging!!! Shower head was filled with black mold- disgusting!!

We had a wonderful stay at **The Grand Hotel in Malahide**. The location is absolutely fantastic — right on the waterfront and just a short walk from the centre of Malahide, with its great selection of pubs, restaurants and shops. It’s also an excellent location if you’re travelling through Dublin Airport. The hotel itself is beautiful, full of character and extremely comfortable. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and after a long day of travelling it was exactly what we needed. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and everything fresh and well prepared. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, professional and welcoming. The only real negative for us was the **lack of air conditioning in the room**. We happened to stay during unusually warm weather, and the room became quite hot overnight. A/C would definitely have made the stay more comfortable. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The combination of the beautiful location, comfortable accommodation, excellent breakfast and easy access to Malahide makes The Grand Hotel somewhere we would happily stay again.
