Booked the property due to location and car parking. Arrived in morning to be told car park was full & had to pay E50 for a car parking nearby. Asked to speak to Manager who failed to speak to me. Service in restaurant really poor. Had to request dessert menu twice. My daughter’s dessert failed to arrive - had to request 3 times & was offered a beer instead of her dessert. Bedroom had no air conditioning.

An absolutely amazing stay in a beautiful and welcoming hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Dunlin or surrounding areas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Gibson. The hotel was spotless, the bedroom very comfortable with everything we needed for a two night stay. We had a relaxing afternoon and evening in the bar and breakfast was excellent.

Everything about our stay was excellent. The staff were lovely and everyone made my toddler feel very welcome and special. We had room 201 which was great.It is a family room with a big double and a single bed that was partly separate from us which meant our little one could sleep without distraction. He loved looking out our windows at the golf course, especially when the automowers were out. We only had one problem with the room, there was a gate below our window which golfers left open and it would bang again its latch. My husband had to go down and close it a couple of times. We took our little scuttle bug with us and the area around the pond was great for it and helped to wind down our little one before bed. We were staying a few nights so brought along our firestick for the TV which let our little one have some familiar tv shows during our down time between roadtrips. It was great to have a compatible tv as not all hotels have one with an HDMI or good enough wifi.Location was good for using as a base on way to; Dublin zoo, Clonfert Fun Farm and Kildare shopping village. Food was nice. It was nice at breakfast to sit at a normal table and proper chairs instead if the smaller bar chairs and tables. The overall maintenance of the resort was great but the swimming pool needs some attention. There was a lot of missing tiles (mosaic) around the sides and or toddler even handed us one that was lying in the baby pool. We would be happy to come visit again in the future.

OK hotel. Quite the hassle to get to the 5th floor down long corridors with poor signage. The room was clean but there was a foul smell coming from the drains in the bathroom and, weirdly, I could smell it at the desk, coming from behind the room nextdoor. Even after closing the bathroom door and turning on the AC, the smell lingered. The night receptionist wasn't particularly helpful when I asked for a phone charging cable to use in the room. All in all I won't stay here again.
