My stay at Hotel Stamford Bridge was genuinely disappointing and, frankly, forgettable. Even as a Gold member, I received an upgrade to a room that was small, dark, dated and dreary. The furnishings made it feel more like somewhere to endure than relax. The shower pressure was also extremely poor, and I dread to think what the standard rooms are like. The service was equally underwhelming. Reception was almost non-existent, with staff who were polite but showed little warmth, engagement or interpersonal skills. There was no genuine welcome, and on departure the staff member simply took my card without eye contact or asking how my stay had been. For a hotel of this supposed standard, that is remarkably poor hospitality. There was also an uncomfortable incident with a security team member outside the hotel. As I approached the entrance, he repeatedly shouted “excuse me”, only turning away once I tapped my key card to enter. Other guests were entering at the same time, so being singled out felt unsettling and left a very unpleasant impression. Overall, the rooms are dark, dated and stuffy, the service feels disinterested, and the whole experience left me wishing I had booked elsewhere. I would not return and certainly wouldn't recommend it.
