LOTS OF HIDDEN FEES.....dont not stay here... This 1 bedroom apartment has no a/c included. Big money extra to NOT stay and sweat in a 90deg plus apartment... after paying this extra it doesn't cool the bedroom or bathroom. Room is too hot to sleep in until about 3am it cools off and by by 10am its too hot again. Advertised as 1 king and 1 queen beds.(thank god i screen shot the description about the beds when i bought, because after i arrived this place changed the description of queen bed to sofa bed trying to defraud me)..when i arrived it was 1 king and 1 queen sofa bed that has a 2in mattress that is unusable to sleep on. It has a bar on you back...they say sorry but nothing can be done. Sofa couch has 2 inch mattress that is worthless. The apartment it self is nice but very uncomfortable unless you pay heavy... Thank God for Expidia for helping me get refunded on A/C and for them miss Advertising the queen bed...

My husband and I had a wonderful one week stay at Fairmont Orchid. The weather was perfect mid October, and this area is generally very dry. We were looking to unwind and only rented a car for one day to go visit Volcano village and the botanical gardens in Hilo. I do recommend a one and a half hour scenic drive to the beautiful gardens. Snorkeling in the hotel lagoon was an amazing experience. There are so many turtles there and different kinds of fish. The hotel provides snorkeling equipment free of charge. Do not forget water shoes for swimming. I saw many sea urchins. There were plenty of chaises in the shade as well as in the sun, and you could also rent covered chaises as well as private cabanas. The food is good but it’s better at the neighboring Mauna Lani for the same money. The shuttle will take you there free of charge. You can walk there along the beach. We enjoyed both resorts. Fairmont guests are welcome at Mauna Lani. Overall, great relaxing time.
