I’ve stayed at Surfsand twice now and every time, I’ve had a very pleasant experience. The staff are always friendly, there are great amenities and you can’t beat the proximity to the ocean. WOW! I highly recommend Surfsand.

Great place for a one or two night stay in Portland. Very clean rooms, close to the Portland Japanese gardens, walkable to Nobb Hill and many restaurants and cafes. Very friendly staff and they have fresh baked cookies in the morning. They also provide complementary tickets to the Japanese garden.

Rooms were in really good shape and the 50s space age decor makes it a unique and more fun experience. Also, one of the few hotels in the house downtown area that doesn't gouge you to park, so we really want appreciated that. And the lobby coffee is quite good. But I am done with hotels.com, the app sucks! Plus you can book fire and save money, do that instead!

The location of the property is great! Conveniently located near shopping, local restaurants and beach access! All staff we encountered were so nice, knowledgeable of the area and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. If you plan on being in the room a lot you may struggle with limited amenities in the rooms, but all the basics were there and let’s be honest the best things on the coast aren’t in the hotel room, they are on the sandy shores and historic bay front. My only negative complaint is no hand soap in the room and a few more hangers would have been helpful. All in all we love staying at the Waves hotel.
