A unique place to stay with a lovely pool/ spa and comfortable bed. A little let down by the service. Kettle in room and two herbal tea bags. We asked if it was posssible to have a black tea teabag (essential for English travellers) but were told no we would have to order tea in the cafe if we wanted black tea. Very disappointing for a hotel that prides itself on good customer service!

Extremely handy to the train station and just 10 mins walk to the old town. Wonderful welcome from reception staff, excellent room and great breakfast. Everyone we spoke to loved Rennes and was happy in their role which is great to see. We will definitely come back to this Novotel

Excellent location right in the center of Rennes. Very trendy decor, excellent view from the restaurant. A bonus in the summer: air conditioning!

Hotel was functional and decent but the AC never got low enough and the room smelled like it had been smoked in. Decent enough place.

Room was very spacious clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Restaurant food and wine were superb. Breakfast was varied and plenty of local products. A very enjoyable stay.

The best thing about this hotel is the view. The rooms are ok (carpet a bit old, bathrooms could use remodelling) and on the small side. Pool was nice but very small and narrow and not particularly warm, so we didn’t stay in very long. The pool has a great view over the water and the views from the hotel rooms are stunning. The breakfast was quite basic with not many options and cost €35 plus fees. Overall the hotel and breakfast were not good value. The staff member who offered to give us a ride to our next hotel was very helpful. It wasn’t clear where to go to get the ferry and we did ask staff questions about the ferry routes, etc., but perhaps there was a language barrier. There’s a way to walk directly from the ferry terminal to the hotel, which we discovered ourselves on the way back! Staff didn’t offer to book any excursions for us. The price didn’t seem to match the luxury experience we expected. (My friend’s room was over $700 a night, mine was $548). Great views and the wine and cocktails are highly recommended!

The main benefit of this hotel is location. Close to bus stops and an unparalleled view of MSM. Be forewarned; front desk service and restaurant service is slow. If staying at the hotel demand a room facing away from the parking lot. The afternoon sun is brutal and the rooms have no AC; just rotating fan. The restaurant food was very good and you should try the lamb. The front desk folks were helpful when around. Parking: the hotel is on the other side of controlled parking and you need an access code from them to get in. Get this code ahead of time or you will be stuck on the wrong side of the gate.
