Lenauer Forst Pet-friendly Vacations

I stayed here for two nights with my wife and it was honestly the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Everything was first class, it's location, the friendliness and helpfulness of staff, the rooms, the spa and the bars and restaurants were all absolutely fantastic.

Staff was great and spoke English, room was small but very nice and clean, paid breakfast buffet is your typical overseas breakfast with cold cuts, cheeses, breads, sweat bread, juices, coffee, fruits and yogurt. The only difference is eggs were made to order fried, omelet, or scrambled. Overall loved my stay there as it was very near to everything and next to the station.

The hotel is at a central location near excellent public transportation. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fantastic every day. The room is nicely renovated but the carpet should probably be replaced. The bathroom is a little bit tight but that is expected for a big city hotel. We were surprised that the two double beds were right next to each other with no space in between

Worst bed of my life. When was the mattress last changed? Tried to ask the concierge about a trip to Neuschwanstein but he did not show up to work that that day so a gentleman at the front desk suggested for me to take a taxi. I asked about a tour instead but he still suggested taxi. From afar, I watched an elderly lady getting into the elevator. Her wheel could not cross the barrier from the floor to the elevator. A staff member was right behind her and just watched her struggle until she could haul the suitcase onto the elevator. Shameful. Other than that, the property is ideally located if you are using the train / central station. As you would expect from the Sofitel, the lobby is welcoming and smells nice. Rooms have nice amenities as well. Sofitel - Check your beds and educate your staff. Then I’ll be back. Other than that, property

Quaint German Hotel. Great restaurant. We had a fantastic dinner the night of check-in. Unfortunately, we did not stay as we encountered what looked like cockroaches in our room and when we approached the front desk were told "they are not cockroaches" "they are wood bugs from the garden". In this day and age with the internet giving identification capabilities instantly I read "cockroach" and was on the way out. The girl at the front desk then gave me a room in the front of the Hotel w/o a "Garden Room" window. This room had been smoked in and with my asthmatic condition I could not stay especially when I found the same bugs under my nightstand. Come to find out (when I got back stateside) these are Ectobius vittiventris. the Amber Wood Cockroach, Amber Forest Cockroach, or Garden Cockroach. Which are not a storage pest, and completely harmless to humans as they feed only on decomposing plant. Without window screens and no A/C they will be there. I went back the next morning (after finding a great clean bugless hotel at midnight a short drive away) asking for a refund and was summarily dismissed and denied. I did not stay in the Hotel nor eat the "great breakfast" I paid for. Had the management (very combatant) not been insistent the bugs were not cockroaches; and better informed me, I would have stayed and not lost close to a thousand dollars!

It had a nice lodge feel to it. Staff was very curteous. Don’t stay in room 345 because the noise from the elevator is VERY LOUD!
