Good hotel just not the best location

We had the absolute privilege of staying at Bellevalia Hydra, and it exceeded every expectation. The location is simply breathtaking, the rooms are beautifully designed, the views are spectacular, and the food is exceptional. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay genuinely unforgettable. It’s almost impossible to single people out because every single person was outstanding, but a special thank you must go to Anna, who went out of her way to make our stay extra special. Stephanous and his wonderful restaurant team, Sergio and Christos, delivered such incredible food and warm hospitality that we didn’t want to dine anywhere else on the island. Thank you also to Renata at reception, Anthony and Paulos at the bar, Alessio, who found us the perfect spot on the beach every day, and Jacob, our friendly water taxi guide, whose warm welcome always put a smile on our faces. Bellevalia Hydra is so much more than a beautiful hotel, it’s a place where genuine hospitality makes you feel completely at home. We leave with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return.

The location was perfect and the rooms were well equipped. The staff were wonderful. They answered all our questions fully, and helped orient us our first days in Athens.

The property and owners were EXCEPTIONAL! We traveled from Canada and this property absolutely made our first couple nights in Athens a dream!!!! Great view, comfy bed, large deck with jetted tub and excellent central location. Felt safe and at home!

Not too bad. Room itself was nice inside and the decor is up to date. Good location. The “luxury” tag is perhaps misleading. Very noisy with road noise outside, breakfast was mediocre and waiting staff seemed annoyed.

My plan was to give this property 1 or 2 stars but it earned 3 stars because of the private adult only beach which made this vacation so much better. A few things as heads up: 1.) the check in time is 3pm, seems to me that they intentionally keep you wait till 3pm as we were offered an early check in for 1250 Euro (yep, you heard it right) but got into the room at 3pm. We went to the beach so didn’t mind too much. 2.) some of the sea front rooms are NOT sea front rooms. We were told that we got a sea front room but it was sea view. 3.) the area is not that nice outside of the resort. 4.) There are a lot of families, a lot. Coming back to the room we couldn’t use the private pool because we were surrounded by families and noise. Same for breakfast. Same for the pool and beach area. What saved our vacation from being a disaster was the private adult only beach. The adult only beach is in a great location and a much better view than the hotel. Overall, the hotel is completely over priced and over hyped and we would probably choose a different place when we are back in the area.

This property was the most beautifully decorated, stylish, and quaint hotel. Every single staff was exceptional and accommodating. The hotel was extremely clean and the kitchen was fantastic. Views from the rooftop were breathtaking and we enjoyed a glass of Greek wine at sunset with views of Athens and the acropolis! Perfectly located within walking distance to shopping, food and sights such as the acropolis. Our room was luxurious and gorgeous. You won't be disappointed in your stay here! They pay attention to every detail to make your experience the best. A definite gem!

This was a perfect experience for us. Rooms were stunning , clean, with an ease of use. There was a small problem with the electric and they moved us to a different room immediately and took care of things. All of the staff, every single one of them was so gracious and caring from Nikki at the front desk. as well as Kosta, and Nicole in the bar. Even the house keeper was so kind. The manager by far was the best we’ve ever met in all of our travels. He was concerned about our welfare and making sure we had a pleasant time. The rooms were clean. The decor included classic architecture from probably the turn of the 20th century mixed with contemporary lighting and accoutrements. The balcony was a joy. My husband sat out there two or three times a day. I’ve had the best drink I’ve ever had in my life made by Nicoli at the bar and I couldn’t wait to have another one when we returned for our last part of our visit at the end of our trip. We felt safe- as if we were home.I give it 100% a five out of five rating and cannot wait to return.
