I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, it did not live up to its 5-star rating. Breakfast Buffet: The breakfast buffet mainly features South Asian dishes, which is absolutely fine—but this should be clearly mentioned on their website so guests know what to expect. The buffet staff themselves were very kind and welcoming, but the lack of transparency beforehand was disappointing. Front Desk Service: The front desk service was the most frustrating part of the stay. Almost every request was met with “come tomorrow” or “we’re working on it,” and then the next staff member would claim there was no note or record of the issue. When I called about our broken kettle, they said they would send a replacement, but no one ever showed up. The following day I was told they already knew it wasn’t workingu and simply had no replacement available. It felt like no one was actually attending to guests’ needs. The only person who truly helped was Padma. Near the end of our stay, we mentioned the kettle situation to her directly and she immediately took care of it. Her service was the one bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. Housekeeping: Housekeeping staff were polite and did a good job throughout our stay, which I appreciated. Noise Levels:
Before booking,I saw a review mentioning loud music, and I wasn’t sure how accurate that was. After staying on one of the higher floors and still hearing music clearly at night, I can’t imagine how loud it must be on lower floor

clean bathroom and linen. but sofa and those useless decorative pillow and small blankets are dirty with visible stains. the room looks tired and wore (although the property itself is not that old) room is big with very comfortable and big beds (two twins i believe) and nice thin blanket appropriate for the warm weather. quiet. i was able to have good sleeps.

I had an exceptional experience at the Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out—every staff member, from reception to the restaurant team, was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. We were greeted by Khodarahm, he’s an absolute asset to the hotel, full of life and cheers you up! One of the touches I appreciated most was the hotel’s use of WhatsApp to check in on us throughout our stay; it made communication easy and made us feel truly looked after.
Breakfast was another highlight. The selection was impressive, and the chefs went above and beyond by remembering exactly what we liked and having it ready each morning. It’s rare to receive that level of personalized attention. Our room was always cleaned to perfection, adding even more comfort to the stay.
The location couldn’t be better—central, convenient, and close to many of Dubai’s top attractions. We hired a car to get around and the you can valet park your car here for free if you’re a guest and even the valet staff were brilliant. If you’re staying here, make sure to visit the viewing platform at the hotel. The view of Dubai’s skyline is absolutely stunning and not to be missed.
I highly recommend Shangri-La Dubai to anyone considering a stay in the city. You will not regret it!
