Weekend getaways in McHenry

We were very pleased with room on two day stay last weekend for ski trip at Wisp.

Lakefront incredibly friendly

Clean rooms, nice place by lake, amazing lake view

This place was great for our family. Nice country feel, clean, and great location. Best of all was the staff working there were so friendly and courteous. We will be staying there again next trip around the area.

Enjoyed our stay, the room was quite clean and in order. Riverside Suites is considering changing the theme of the Hotel. But my buddy and I like the naming of the rooms for wild west characters. We stayed in the Wyatt Earp room next to Wild Bill Hickok. We think Riverside should keep the theme. Enjoyed the Riverside Grill as well.

Love everything about Alpine

Dan and Robin are very thoughtful and caring hosts. The location was very close to falling waters. The place was extremely clean and we were allowed to cook in the kitchen. The nearby town restaurants close early and you may want to take your own food for dinner. Breakfast is provided by the hosts. Only negative is the sound of trains nearby.

Cove Creek Lodge is a beautiful property in an incredible location at Deep Creek Lake! One of the biggest highlights is being able to walk to several great restaurants and the popular Honi-Honi Bar for drinks, live music, and entertainment without ever needing to get in the car. Lovely place to stay if you prefer unique experiences and not the chain hotels that all look and feel alike. This is a very nicely restored historical building, full of fascinating details. We got a very nice room, where the only negative point could be the bathroom door that didn't want to stay closed. There was no TV in the room, which was big plus in our eyes. Parking was very close and all the snow was removed. Desk person was most helpful in a number of ways. Room was super clean as was the whole facility. Checking in and out was a breeze. Room, even on the first floor, as I requested, was very quiet. Room rate was very reasonable too. Will stay there again!

The property was very nice, the rooms and amenities were very clean. It was a cute little spot, I recommend staying if you're in the area! Our bed sagged a little in the middle but otherwise we had no issues with our stay.

Booked a cabin last minute during a snow storm for me and my two Border Collies. The owner actually called me to make sure that I knew it was a camping cabin - which I thought was super nice. He brought down a second heater in case the first one didn’t warm the cabin up enough. It was a camping cabin so rustic.
