Weekend getaways in Portree

During our 2-week visit to Scotland, I managed to catch RSV. I was miserable. And by the time we reached Portree, I was struggling to breathe. My husband spoke to the Cuillin Hills hotel staff about how to go about seeing a doctor and they immediately got to helping us out. The desk staff spent over an hour on hold with the NHS to help establish my "temporary resident" status so that we could even get in to see a doctor. They printed out a map with all of the addresses of the nearby...

Beautiful rooms (we stayed in two). Comfortable beds. Desk service was amazing! We received a reservation for a Michelin rated restaurant because of the employee who called for us. Magnificent!!!

Views were amazing. High end toiletries, excellent tea and coffee. Meals at Dolse & Brose were delicious!

This was hands down one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at! Our room was clean, cozy, and full of amenities. Our daily free breakfast was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced so many options and made to order. The dinner was amazing everything was cooked to perfection! The Haggis bon bons are a must try! The staff are incredible, so informative, and so accommodating. This was such a beautiful place, we will definitely be back on our next trip to the highlands.

Comfortable bed, clean bathroom and easy walking distance (cut through the park) to the town center.

Travelled with my family and this was an excellent choice, stayed at the private room and was surprised at the lack of noise from the outside, very good acoustics. Highly recommend and the private bathroom was a plus. Very close to several tourists destinations.

Really enjoyed the little cabins, everything we needed for a nice night was in the little cabin. The host offered anything we needed from nice conversation at the on site bar, to recommendations for local sites and food. This hotel is about 7 miles onto the Isle after crossing the bridge so after a long day of driving, arriving quickly at the hotel was very pleasant.

This is a VIP cabin in the middle of heaven. The surrounding looks like it's out of a nature postcard. Location is very convinient to explore Skye, assuming you have a car. You do need one to stay at this cabin.

Great property. It is a remote location that is a bit of a drive to get to. It would be great (imho) for stays consisting of at least several days or longer. One suggestion for the property is to add a mirror over the bathroom sink. The mirror on the opposite wall isn’t as practical. Beautiful views and we enjoyed our stay! Thank you!

We only spent one night here but it was one of our favorite places of the two week trip. The house is very nice, well kept, and comfortable. We stayed in the Rum room, which is spacious and luxurious. Easily one of the nicest rooms we’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast was great, and the dining room is open and pleasant, and the food was delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful too. Also, the garden and the view are hard to beat. Would highly recommend!

Loch Eyre House is a charming and private bed & breakfast. The fact that it's 7 miles from the traffic of Portree is a big plus-- at Loch Eyre House you have quiet and a beautiful view of Loch Eyre. The guest lounge is a comfortable place to read or play cards if the weather isn't great. Our room had everything we needed, plus a balcony porch with table and chairs. This little cottage was so cute. It was well equipped with everything we needed for a few days. It was within walking distance to a convenient store that had plenty of food options. Close enough to isle of Skye for some day trips!
