Weekend getaways in Branford

One of the best hotels I’ve ever been to

For a small family-run motel, this was a little gem. I was lucky to get a room there for my niece's Phd grad at Yale this past weekend. Very comfortable king bed, flat screen TV, great air-con, super shower, fridge, & microwave. I always travel with my own mug, instant coffee & tea, so I was all set. Setting is fresh air country, with flowers & evergreen shrubs around the motel. Office has a Keurig coffeemaker, ice machine, and cold drinks machine. Definitely would stay there again!

My stay here I found to be excellent. I travel and stay in hotels every night and I mean every night so I am an authority in hotels due to the fact that I am particularly picky and paranoid at the same time ( I know it's weird.) when we arrived the desk clerk came out to help us park, very much appreciated. I explained to the clerk my situation how I don't like parties and that sort of thing he assured me that he did not put up with that stuff so I felt calm and relaxed. The room was clean and...

Breakfast should be more robust off season. Hefty price just for a room

Nice property. Surrounding area is not great…

Friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast. Bedding was very good.

The Captain Stannard house is a true gem in Westbrook. There are many restaurants, shops, parks, and beaches close by. The property has a private yard and a large rear porch for relaxation. My room was impeccably clean and spacious for being the smallest one in the house. Dianne was incredibly sweet and went out of her way to help all the guests.

We live locally however needed a New Haven hotel for our wedding guests as well as ourselves. The Blake was perfect! A beautiful property centrally located to downtown, Yale, and the entertainment area of the city. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the city!

Friendliest staff!

We truly had a terrific experience. We drove New Jersey with my granddaughter who is doing her sevond Master’s Degree in Scotland. She needed Research materials at the Yale Library. We arrived at The Study at 10 am instead of the 3 pm check in. The front desk clerks were exceptional and said our rooms were ready! The breakfast and dinner we had in the Study restaurant were delicious. The two king rooms were clean and large with a desk and a large leather chair and haddock. We were very...

friendly staff and welcome on arrival, tastefully decorated. comfortable and relaxed. Breakfast could be improved, A place of this caliber, I would expect fresh bread and toast, sweet butter, eggs to order, rather than the packaged food service microwave prepared hash browns, sausage slice and packaged mini quiche tarts. The caned tangerine accented with mint was refreshing. good coffee.

Great location... excellent staff and comfortable rooms! And a great warm breakfast each morning! Do yourself a favor and stay here!

Beautiful view of the sea, balcony, comfortable bed

They even shoveled off all the cars after a snowstorm! Awesome!
